Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

I hope so too buddy, I'm all for eating humble pie after the bashing I've given c4s in the past lol
Got to the point where it's about being out there more than how fast I'm going.
Absolute worst case is going back to N/A.......
Will try to avoid if possible lol

Yeah I feel I should atleast get something in return for all this hassle from it.
Should probably have gone k-swap from the start but I'm abit deep now lol

Little update
Engine and box out the car, new engine due Friday.
New record for engine and box removal, 1.5hours.
That's box out first then engine.
That's without the turbo on though so took abit longer all in.

Plan is to use the c4 bottom end, b16b head with the head studs out of the forged block along with the baffled sump. Yeilds very similar compression to my forged block with the same stroke etc so should be able to just run straight off my current map. Romain is on standby for a check up before it sees the track though.
Got to buy something other than engine parts the other day(oil pressure gauge) decided after all the electrical issues the current gauge setup is giving me to go mechanical. Had a spare port around the cluster so it went in there.

Can't wait to get my other SPG fitted, putting it off while everything is grubby and have half the engine parts in the back of the car ATM lol
With abit of luck I'll be up and running again early next week!

Just hope this engine is a good one! It's going to be put through hell!

That's a nice gauge! Good luck with the c4

Agreed, it's so simple that it's actually got style lol
I think it looks like a factory item of that era. I'd like the whole range but at £100+ a gauge that's abit steep for me ATM.

Love the gauge, pure functionality ftw I hate all the new style ones they make the dash look like a Christmas tree :D how easy is it to plumb it in?

Yep, it's fits right in, the markings are actually very similar to the fuel and temp gauges right behind.

stack gauges are about the best you can buy,

Pretty easy with no engine mate lol

Nah it's simple, a small line connects rear of gauge to pressure source on engine.(all parts supplied)
It does have two wires + and - for an LED that lights the gauge. I haven't done that yet but a small job for tomorrow.
You can run without the LED obviously but seeing it at night might be a bitch.

Just needs a yellow needle and it's just like the cluster behind.

As above, I'm a fan of that gauge; clean and simple. Reminds me of an old Porsche type.

Nothing, that is my gauge.
The mechanical ones are much cheaper but don't come with all the fancy functions, plus they need plumbing in so its more potential for leaks etc.
The £100+ gauges are the electrical ones, personally I'd rather run electrical on the temp sensors as it's easier to fit.
I just wanted 100% reliability from this gauge and obviously needed cheap because poor...

Ahhh nice! Very good gauge for the money!

Always loved them :) would love a full set of them for mine. Will see how things go lol

Not long till your engine arrives!

Yeah hopefully tomorrow. They did say they where mega busy this week and wanted me to take it Monday, not in on Monday so.....

So some work done today.
Had another Recaro SPG sat in the loft for ages, while I was waiting for the engine to turn up I got to fitting it.

M2 rail(eBay job) looks decent enough quality that I'd happily have a crash while bolted to it.

RSA harness. This is the same as my drivers harness(RRS) but renamed. Basically they are 3" lap and shoulder straps and FIA approved but made in Taiwan. Approved is good enough for me and I prefer 3" straps, feels abit more sturdy and thick against your chest.

Had to move the harness mounting point to the exhaust tunnel, this is the proper way of doing it anyway rather than being attached to the seat rail...

Then decided to remove the exhaust heat shield as the exhaust was rattling against it, my exhaust is sitting right up in the tunnel now so should I decide to make a flat floor it shouldn't be too difficult.
Here's a shot from the diffuser looking forward under the car, can't see the exhausts outline sticking from underneath which is perfect!

Oh and the engine turned up!!
