Man thats some awesome shizz. I think the rat look could be good :p

Plus I heard rust holes are lighter than carbon anyway.

Bet if it had a B18 you would be *****n in your pants tae! I'm not impressed by a B18 wot so eva, could have had one twice but I enjoy my 16 much much more!

EK9's are not becoming common and if your not happy about it then get another car. That way you wont have to be part of a forum thats getting a bad!:p

grow up honestly


Looking forward to a forum where people don't get emotional about someone doing something to their car that the Majority of JDM cool guys dont like.

my cars not JDM styled at all. ive got "halfords" wheels and Uk spec brakes etc surprised i havent been banished from here altogether :lol:

There are 5 or 6 EK9s in edinburgh alone, id say thats getting common. There are 3 or 4 that are tacky as **** though

Thanks for all the comments, I think some people have gone a bit over the top about my Ek9 with a rust bonnet (not a sticker over it... rust.)

I didn't use the OEM bonnet I used a friends old bonnet which was already dented before it was rusted.

Like Ezza said we are not chavs, and we are both nice people who just tried somthing different for a laugh, FYI the rust bonnet is now off with the cf one back on.

The car is very clean and will remain that way! As for the car becoming common that's not true, I have only ever seen three ek9's (besides mine) and they will never become chav or any thing like that because of the running costs aswell as the cheapest ek9's are 5k and up!

Btw I will not say sorry for being different, it's better to try thing such as this and other differnt ways to make 9's better! (even though some mods might not be to your taste)

but anyway thanks for the all comments good or bad!

It's up to you, I don't think YOU are stupid, I just think you have a different taste to me, but I do think the CAR now looks a bit stupid with it...

The first time I saw an EK9 was in Cornwall and I thought: "Look at that ****, he's put a 'Type R' sticker on his chavved up civic".

Now I own one :)

Well my dad works for ferrari and says that rust has special properties that make air turbulant in such a way as to make a car more aerodynamic, and it IS lighter than carbon fibre thats common knowledge!!!! god, idiots!

but seriously tho.......the next peron to post a derogatory comment is a gaylord. jks.

After all this im more inclined to drop a rusted bonnet on to see all the pathetic JDM bandwagoners at shows get all twisted up and on there high horse's. lets be honest its pretty hard to stand out these days, especially at shows, "oh look, another basically standard ek9, oh and theres another, im so glad there is such a variety of styles and taste, oh that one has a cf bonnet, ooo" sometimes you might aswell just look at one car cus the rest are pretty much going to be the same, and i remember when cf hoods on white cars was becoming a trend, everyone was like wtf, it looks like a taxi, unpainted cf bonnet on white is just a safer bandwagon thats over a decade old.

anyway im done with this rust argument, imo it can look good and you have a right to do what you want, but i have to admit i do prefer marks (that one ^) with the oem hood over the rust or the cf one.

Last thing, whoever was on about focus RS's and S3's, there not car gods, i dont give a monkeys (alan sugar) what they do, if anything im proud to be part of a 'scene' that isnt scared to stand out and set trends. In the years of modifying cars iv never thouht "****! id better not do that, iv never seen a focus or an S3 with that on"

anyway, now im properly done, hopefully not with this forum as il be posting up more with my SiR, if im allowed :p

fair point, but i think i missed when rat became a chav thing, whenever i see chavs in the aerodeck they dont seem to like it (to my delight, lol)
