Hello, im new to this forum and have heard good things about it and its members have a wealth of knowledge to share so im hoping someone out there could help me. Ino this question keeps coming up but everyone likes the answer to be specfic to their needs lol.
Im 19 and cant get insure on a vti civic, so im considering buying 1.4 ek model and chnaging the engine to either the b16a or b engine, with maybe even plans to turbo it. Ive been researching this on this forum from members that have carried out this turbo conversion and have gathered information on the parts i need to upgrade from the stock engine to carry this conversion out safely with hopefully big gains. The list i have came up with will follow, and was hoping someone could offer me on advice on wether i have left anything out, something in there that wont isnt needed, or wether a specfic part is best suited over another for this conversion, and maybe even an indictaion on the cost of parts, or overall and were is the best place to purchase them (mainly from Uk to avoid dutys and tax). I hope someone can help...
Heres the list..
so obviously b16a lump and all thats needed to carry out this initial conversion
Then for the turbo conversion... a turbo (gt3071r recommened)
Turbo manifold (meutek recommened)
Custom downpipe
Big FMIC with hardpipes
Wastegate (Tial 44mm recommened)
BOV (tial 50mm recommened)
750cc fuel injectors
Engine management system
Walbro Fuel pump
ARP Head studs
at least 1.3mm head gasket (OEM recommened)
Low compression pistons maybe b18c pistons or buy forged ones, and maybe forged rods
Crank
Blockguard
Boost controller
Boost gauge
Fuel pressure Gauge
Uprated brakes
Uprated Clutch
Straight through exhaust with no cat
Cold air induction kit
Spark plugs (ngk bkr7eix iridium recommened)
Aem fuel rail
Oil catch tank
Water injection
Mayeb a B18c bottom end?
Any advice on this list would be greatly apprectiated.. At the moment i have no budget set, i just want to gather the information, on what is needed, then price out parts and carry this build out gradually, not rush into it ensure i have everything set out in my mind and be confident in what im buying can carry the job out safely with hopely big gains.. 300 350 + whp depending on the funds i have at the time. Cheers Arnie, Northern Ireland, UK..
