Hi folks,
some of you may know about this already :secret:,but i have been busy gathering some info on here and k20.org,so this will be my build thread

The car is a facelift ek9,about to be shipped next week.
few mods,i don't know the full spec as i don't want to hassle my contact for info on it as i've hassled him enough,if you look at the photo's you'll understand what i mean lol,but basically the stuff i know it has are coilovers and a 5 zigen exhaust.
unknown engine mods etc.

the running gear is full k20a dc5 running gear with 49 000 km on it,sourced by me and bought by my contact in japan from yahoo auctions,my contact then prepared it to be shipped in the boot of my 9 lol.

won't be here until september.

i have a few other goodies coming over aswell, but i'll keep this underwraps just now.

check out the attached pics (i don't know how to upload bigger ones).

Look forward to reading your progress on this!:D
Good luck with the build!:nice:

As I said to you the other day, I can't wait to see the finished project man:nice:

Cant wait to see this project..Its a handy way of getting the engine over anyway.

looks good mate gonna be an interesting thread. hope your contact straps that engine down!

Cheers folks,

should also have mentioned i'll be using Hybrid racing parts http://www.hybrid-racing.com/ to do the conversion, seems like the people to go with, excellent customer service and back up help given whilst your doing the conversion, they also have a mini forum on their site to post your build thread on and they can keep you right as they speak to you on there aswell.

will be changing the ek subframe, steering rack and lca's to dc2 items as this seems to make it a bit easier from what i've read,i have these bits already from a mates teg.

not saying this is gonna be easy but i'll deal with the problems as they come.

any hints or tips anyone can give me would be appreciated!

Nice project!

Are you going to keep a/c and power steering wheel?

I think you have to also cut some metal to make the gear shift fit inside the car...

will do without a/c as i live in scotland and don't really need it,but will keep the power steering.

the hybrid racing shifter fits through the original shifter hole so no cutting of the floor needed.

Sounds like a good project. I would be cautious about how your shipping in the motor though. I have imported several cars and the guys on the boats are big theives. Anything not bolted down will go missing normally and some things that are. Usually shift knobs are gone and anything left in the car. Most shipping companies tell you that your car is not a storage container. So make sure its all insured to be safe.

Will look forward to seeing your build. I am getting all the parts in for a customer right now to do a K20 swap into his EK4 so if you get stuck on anything give me a shout.

i've imported quite a few cars myself (over the last 7 years),everything in my signature plus more and other cars for friends and even imported d'janiero on heres 9 for him,but yep they do steal from the cars,my corrozziera (pioneer) flipout dvd player from the version 5 type r that came in today was stolen (was fitted in the dash) but they won't usually take large items or items mentioned on the bill of laden,i had wheels in the boot of the version 5 and other bits like sti rear lights etc and none of these were
touched.
usually type r mats, gearknobs, stereos and gauges they take nothing drastic,it's the chance you take i suppose, any small bits that are loose get posted nowadays.

will maybe take you up on your offer but have a friend thats known as the boffin on crx uk (first person in the world to do a fully working s2k speedo conversion into a crx ,speed counter, rev counter, temp gauge, fuel gauge, correct mileage set,etc etc) so should be fine,he also done a k20 conversion on a crx years ago,he's pretty clued up and i'm not shy myself at having a go.

Are you buying the K-Swap package?

think so,but with billet mounts upgrade and the header upgrade.

not buying anything until the b16b's gone as it might get cheaper and i'd rather buy it all at once and push for a discount :nice:

i want that shifter though it's a must have.
