Well I have an h2b in my ej6. Love the motor and so much torquer than all the B series I ever owned. Love it. Any fellow h2ber's in here? post up videos or pics or anything. And tell me what you think of the h2b swap. Even if you dont have an h2b.

H series motor with B series gearbox....?

Yes

What the hell are you saying man? What is an "H2B"?

Are you serious? you never heard of the h2b? I guess Im one of the only ones in Long beach, Ca who has an h2b in my civic hatchback..

This is an h2b (or the "Poorman's K20")

Do you have any numbers? Is it reliable? I've always wanted to see how they run!! I'm on my blackberry so idk if you posted videos, but if you haven't please do :)

aye there videos lol

what QM time do you run in that man? not a big fan of H series swaps, but combined with the bseries gearbox must be fast.

Never knew this could be done but that has to be a n animal of an engine with the h22 and the 98 spec teg gearbox or s4c ek9 box :) do they just scew straight on?

well you need a kit.. but yes it bolts right on.. there are 3 available right now and maybe some more when its gets more popular. QSD kit, EVO kit, Bisi Kit.. The swap started back in 2004 I believe. Quartersports drag was one of the first companies to develop a kit to mate the B series tranny with the H engine. Now the company has many other products. They even made a kit where you can use a K series RBC manifold to mate with the H series motor. So you have a H engine, a K manifold, and a B tranny. Its amazing!

all the h2b I seen so far in civics run high 12's to low 13's stock with bolt ons and a good tune.. all the dynos I seen of a stock h2b runs at least 195whp and 161wtq! and thats with a bone stock H engine. This swap is amazing man. I daily drive mines everyday and just love the response and torque of it.. pulls hard and feels like a heavily modified B series but with more torque!

yes there are videos.. lots of them but not enough! Many people from across the seas never really heard of the h2b.. I believed it originated in Northern California where its gaining popularity.

H series for the win. The cheapest conversion too. I have a h22 project planned but loss of job has it put off for now! What kinda drivshafts do you have? Are they just prelude or hasport or what? And what kinda mounts???

Let me just say this. If you already have a B series motor in your car, then you dont need anything else. All you need to do is get rid of the long block and replace it with the h2b kit and the h engine. You also need to do a little grinding on the back of the block for the B series axels to spin freely.

So it depends on the kit...

QSD kit for 96-00 civics:
B series motor mounts
B series axels, half shaft
B series flywheel, clutch, pressure plate etc
D series alternator from a 96-00 civic with a Evo alternator bracket relocator kit

Evo kit for 96-00 civics:
EVO aftermarket motor mounts
EVO aftermarket flywheel
B series axels, half shaft
D series alternator from a 96-00 civic with a Evo alternator bracket relocator kit.

You saying the b-series mounts will do?

No I have just a standard 1.4i ej9 bought a complete prelude (Jap spec too bb4 chassis) doner car! 700 euro. Very cheap for the whole lot. I plan on using mine as a daily driver when i get to put it in someday. Mine won't be a h2b. I won't be putting in the b series transmission until the H one goes. Which is hondas weakest transmission.

What sorta suspension set up have you got on your h2b? I hear it has to be good due to it being hondas heaviest block?:secret:

Well I have skunk2 pro series coilovers.. they are great man.. no problems so far and in fact, the H motors arent even that heavy compared to the B series. I think it was like 30 pounds more and not 100. http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=684550

Im am wanting to do this swap
just need to sort a few other things out first

How do you find bonnet clearance with the QSD kit ?

Do you mean hood clearance? Well for ek's Qsd claims that the hood will close but it depends on how you install the motor. However, most people use washers to pop the hood open a bit for clearance. QSD also make custom spacers/washers for that.

Seriously and more torque than a k20a! But not a k24
