The only differences are:
1. Cams (CTR cams are far better than ITR ones
2. ITR uses dual valve springs whereas CTR uses singular springs

Everything else is the same.

Im sure ctr cams have a higher lift on them compared to the itr ones!

ok lads ive both heads at home and both seta of cams

which would u use as im stroken my b16b at the moment!

all comments welcome thanks in advance

Use either set of cams, in the real world it really makes no difference.

There is meant to be a tiny tiny tiny amount higher lift on the intake cam, but as I said, not enough to actually make any difference.

When I was down getting my car mapped yesterday this is what Henry told me ;)

hahahah :blabla:

The only difference is that all the CTR's were fitted with the later spec Intake cam that have like only 3 degrees of extra duration on the vtec lobe.

Also apparently these cams were brought into the ITR as well in the later 98specs.

Im 95% that the lift on both is 11.5mm an it the duration thats the difference
So no not much or any noticable differences at all!!!

If you have both and want to choose id jus go for the stuff thats in the best condition.

Yup, the lift on both sets is 11.5mm. Unless the website I go by is wrong, I thought the 98spec ITR had only 10 degrees of rotation compared to the Ek9s 18 degrees, also the valve lift is 10.6mm on 98 spec.

Again, website could be wrong - just thought I'd clarify:nice:

so from what im grasping is that the b16b cam is shightly better but not noticable

and there is no difference in valve springs and retainers???

These are the specs im going by. I got them off a survey done a few years back. Not 100% that these specs are 100% but they seem to match anything iv seen since.

ITR till 1999
Intake:240' duration/ 11.5 lift
Exhaust:235' dur / 10.5 lift

CTR + ITR 2000-01
intake: 243' duration/ 11.5
Exhaust:235' dur/ 10.5

I didnt know that.
I always thought that CTR cams were much better than ITR one's:shocked:

Thanks.

The only difference between the two heads is the CTR's 3 degrees extra of duration on the intake cam compared to the 96 spec ITR. Everything else is the same..
