Hi guys, been a member on here for a bit now and was driving a crx del sol with a b18c6 however to cut a long story short basically i was tired of the leaky roof etc on the del sol and i was stupid and put a dirty rocker cover on my b18 and scored the bearings and mangled my oil pump
I had been starting to warm to ek shape, especially after joining here and it was after seeing phillyt1988's ek9 that i decided i would have to get one and maybe take the sol off the road so i didnt have to rush everything with it because it was my daily.
And so i went on the hunt for a clean civic ej9/ek3 that i could plunk my b18 in to. The reasoning behind this is that they are cheaper than an ek9 and i am going to have to drive it for a while before i can put my engine in and the insurance will be cheaper for that time.
I had been lookng for a while, originally i wanted a black/silver facelift ej9 or ek3 and although was willing to go to the mainland id rather have got it closer to home. I went to look at a few near me but none really were to my taste and were rusty. Then i saw an advert that i liked the look of for a black jap import ek3 and went to look at it. I liked it as soon as i saw it and the guy selling it was very helpful and dead on. Although it wasnt a facelift, and had a few minor things id like to cjhange like the wheels and exhaust, it was my preferred black and was clean of rust So after a few viewings and looking underneath i was very happy and i handed over the money
The spec is:
D15B vtec
Air filter (ebay?)
Exhaust system (no namer)
Lowered (dont know the springs)
Back 3 tinted
It also came with some nice jdm extras like cupholders, raybrig foglights and electonic fan control thing on dash lol. Also has 2 stereos
Heres a few photos of it i took today. Sorry they are very crappy, i dont have a good phone or camera lol
Was a nice day so went about making her lightweight lol, to make the most of that d15b so removed the aircon. Engine bay looks alot cleaner and less cluttered without it in my opinion. Plus i never use air con.
Then removed the rear wiper and put in the wiper delete Again makes it a bit more lightweight and i can live without it.
Then removed back seats, boot carpet, spare tire etc, to make sure there was no rust and to remove sound deadening Again helping her shed some unwanted pounds Think i might keep the back seats out aswell, never really give people lifts haha.
Stuff i want to do in the future to the exterior is:
Do facelift Front end
Put my mugen RNR's on
Get better suspension
Just do general tidy up cuz theres a few scrapes etc
I have got the majority of parts for the swap my b18, just need to rack some money up again to complete it.
So far i have:
B18c6
Blitz ITB's
Buddyclub spec4 cams
Buddyclub cam gears
Brian crower Springs and Retainers
Spoon ek9 pistons
ACL Bearings
Hondata s300 ECU
Still have alot of stuff to get and money to spend but its getting there
Some more photos
Want to get the engine done soon but know thats maybe not possible so going to take my time to make sure its done right
Well thats it for now, will update when i get new parts and stuff.
Any comments and sugestions are welcome.
Thanks
