Been doing a fair few stage rallys recently with some very good results for the spec of my car, and as this event was a new one co organised by the motorclub im in, thought id enter as its only 15 miles away and have abit of fun...., so i thought!

First stage was going well, and ended up being only 7 seconds off 1st overall, but was ruined by hitting a dear half way through who picked the wrong moment to run out of the hedge!

Front bumper, grill, front panel, horn, spal fan and rad all mullered...,bent the red but didnt split it, but as it was resting on the exhaust manifold for the rest of the stage it was leaking like a leaky thing come the end.

This event ran the stages in blocks between service, so we had to patch it up with bungee cords i borrowed, water from a river and chewing gum on the rad just to keep it going till we could quik steel it at service

It holds pressure and doesnt leak so it was at least a better fix than it looked!

Unfortunatly stage 2 wasnt much better as with my eyes streaming from all the coolant steam and paying more attention to the temp gauge than the road, i hit a hay bale in a chicane

So all in all a disaster event from the start, my heart wasnt in it after that so just drove the stages without any real effort, still got a 3rd in class but my performance was poor so didnt deserve it, but at least was able to drive home at least. My mate mike who services for me got 2 short vids but again, not a true representation.

But on a much happier note, how about a 619bhp 11 speed MB6?

Haha...., or just a mid engined MB6?

If only it were my engine and not dads!!

So cool you can drive to a rally and even thouh your heart wasn't all in it...get - good result then drive home! What is the spec then and class restrictions? Must be great fun

My mate was at this helping out with recovery, said it was a good event,
What did it cost you to enter this event?

Spec of the car is a b16a2, made 172bhp on the rollijg road, ek9 box with 4.9 fd and ats 1st and 3rd/4th& 5th. Standard lsd. Standard ek4 brakes with ds2500 pads, selholm coilovers, and thats about it.
Was beaten in class by my mate gav in a 230bhp sequencial box'd mk2 escort, and an mg zr s1600 with 215bhp and a sequencial box etc, altho i can normally just about match gav in his escort, when im not attacking the wildlife!
Entry fee was £180, which is one of the cheaper ones but the stage mileage of this event was very short...., onto the next one as they say.

What does your dad run then? Are they duratec engines or Peugeot or something else?

Do you do hill climb/ sprint events as well?

I do a coulpe of hillclimbs and sprints, doing pentillie near saltash end of august.

Dads got a 205

shame about the episodes dude... at least it lets us know you are pushing the car :p

hope things get better.. car still goes well though :D

LMAO at the 2 engines, my phone took a while to load as i scrolled down, i was actually expecting some mad civic lol. Ya got me lol.

Don't think I've been there before, castle hillclimb in lostwithiel is on this weekend, may head up for a look tomorrow

The engine stood up in the back is 272bhp so would go well enough in a civic haha.

I was thinking about doing castle, but after hitting the deer i need to do some repairs before a proper event, altho i did do.an autotest wed night which i won, 5 autotests in a row now :)
