Civic EG6 SIR2 overhaul.

I've always liked the EG6's, something about old school/retro Honda's . Excellent work, keep us updated on the progress :nice:

not normally a fan of eg's but this is really nice! and i like how clean and well looked after all your parts are :D

This is savage mate, as stated attention to detail is epic !

Said it on civiclife aswell, car is an absolute credit rich, fair play mate it should be put on a stand somewhere as a standard set for EG's:))

looks awesome mate nice to see u putting the hours in it has certainly paid off :D i am beginnin go to get a soft spot for egs now

Thanks for all the comments guys. Main reason for doing this is i have always wanted to as i enjoy building my cars as much as i enjoy driving them :) but also the fact its so nice to work on a car that's clean top to bottom and knowing that everything has been replaced ready for track days.

quality build up, whats next then?

Well i have still yet to book it in to the bodyshop to have my mugen front lip painted and fitted, EK side skirts painted and fitted, arches rolled and a few little dings taken out etc... i have also still yet to fit the Apexi power FC and get Romain @ Eurospec to map it for me.

On top of that im looking to go down the turbo route as i love the cars handling to bits but find its just lacking that little bit of power on the straights so a nice 240-250 BHP would be nice and still keep the car as a nice fast road/ track toy but lack the funds for this at the moment but maybe later in the year.

The Wilwoods have all been stripped down again as i have been having a few problems with the passenger side rotor and bell so the bells are at the machine shop being trued up as they are in bad shape and new rotors have arrived so need to build them up again.

Theres a whole host of other things i would like to do but as always it comes down to money but im sure i will get there in the end with it.

i'd love to get the suspension arms all powder coated up. makes it look so much cleaner! attention to detail is mad, i'd bet those small parts from honda were a pretty price though.

240-50 on the b16?!:wow:

Oh yes been proved many a time the standard B can take that power with out tearing it apart and being as mine is very low mileage, burns no oil at all and has good compression on all cylinders why not plus the boost pressure you run is not a lot, i reckon i could strap a hair dyer on there and create more pressure lol.

Yer Honda is not so forgiving with the prices but at least you know there going to fit first time round.

I have such a soft spot for Black eg's :( Sell it... to me?!

Absolutely top work.. Well done.

Look after it!

Thought i should update this. Not done a great deal recently as i have been enjoying driving the car rather than buying things for it :p but have done a few little things.

Decided to strip the rear of the car out so that i can fit my harnesses for my track day so while i was removing bits i removed the whole lot and painted the floor so it looked a bit neater, also removed a few brackets and 1 patch of sound deadening love JDM cars :) but i left the important brackets in for the rear seats to go back in.

Also fitted my Speedline Comp2's which my brother kindly painted for me and also removed the mud guards and arch liners for the new R888's to fit

After driving on the R888's i don't think i will be going back to normal road tyres again!

While having the car off the road for a few weeks i gave her a full check over every nut, bolt, suspension component, brake component and engine was checked, cleaned and adjusted :D
