dc2 manifold help on a b series ek4

:nice:hello!

i can get a dc2 manifold for a good price second hand and i think i have read on here that it is good for gains on a b16 engine?? is this true?

also will it be a direct fit and would you guys recommend it? need to know soon so would appreciate some feedback, thanks:nice:
 
Exhaust manifold or intake? The 98spec 4-1 jdm exhaust manifold is a nice upgrade and will fit your car fine.

can get it for around£70 maybe a bit less, would you recommed goin for it then?
 
Yes def get it for that price. The lower bracket will not line up, not essential but best to fit one. I have one if you get stuck.

Don't NEED to run the lower bracket, I've never ran my car with it........

Manifold won't be a straight fit to a vti, the collector size is 2.5" on imports, uk cars have a smaller collector

Can't fit a JDM cat either as they are shorter and won't reach your b-pipe (jdm b-pipes are longer)

Tegiwa sell adjustable decats with 2.5" collector, fitting one of these should allow you to fit it, best check with them how long the decat can be extended too :nice:
 
mani will fit but as said length and collector size wont fit to your oem b pipe and cat

i fitted an adjustable 2.5- 2.25 decat when i changed to jdm setup on my previous car

or you need an adjustable and change collector size on your b pipe?
 
Collector on the Manifolds are different, the 3 bolt flange joint on the B-pipes are the same

Alternatively if you want a more "legal" option which will pass an mot.....

Get the manifold, a JDM cat and a jdm b-pipe, the jdm b-pipe will mate up to your axle back exhaust ok
 
I can also get a stainless steel 4-1 manifold for a b series engine, just waiting to hear back on what brand it is lads, its £80 but should get it a bit less:p
 
If you can get one in the correct collector size then :nice:

BUT

The jdm manifold is a peachy upgrade, the bigger collector size makes a good difference, especially paired with either a decat or shorter jdm cat

know of a few people who have changed out their ecu and exhaust on uk DC2 type R to the JDM spec stuff and seen mega gains, it's the ECU and exhaust that makes the 15bhp difference between uk/jdm models :secret:
 
Im glad i read this post, i almost bought a uk b pipe.. I have a 4 t0 1 header but need to work out the cat....
