I am looking to upgrade my discs and pads on the front of my EJ9 but was wondering what you guys thought to be best?
Only for road use but eventually looking to get a B16a2 so will be running upgraded discs/pads front and drums at rear as i've heard the vti swap to 242 discs is pointless over drums

I'm not too clued up on disc and don't really know too much difference between; drilled, grooved, dimpled etc except what i've read online just looking for some opinions for the moment on discs and pads

:thanks:

Really if your going to be doing any sort of track time or fast road use then a full 260/242 Vti disc setup should be a minimum.

Drum rears will have more of an initial bite force but they will overheat allot faster than the 242 rear disc setup. Also Just so you know you will need new hubs front and rear as the vti 260 calipers wont bolt onto the 242 front hubs.

Personally If it was me then I wouldn't bother doing half a job, why not just go straight for a type R or MB6 282/260 setup. Either 5 stud or 4. Will be able to run standard discs and pads and probably cost less in the long run.

Blueprint discs should be fine man. Just use a decent compound pad with them. Im using them and my brakes are great.

Ill tell you now, I had just fitted Dixcel front brakes to my ek9 and my jack suddenly collapsed, making a right mess of the tarmac and me nearly in tears as a £100 set of discs were dead...

Or so I thought.. I dusted them off and they were perfect, I was amazed...
only discs I will ever buy now!

Thanks for the comments guys! Won't be using any track at all so basically just want to upgrade front discs and pads so if I do get a conversion it will be safer lol
I thought vti front discs were the same size as facelift EJ9? I am looking for new discs/pads not other Honda ones :)

Hope you now use axle stands mate. a fella round the road from me was killed under a jack.

Just blue print discs mate and upgrade your pads to ds2500 or the likes

Jesus mate! Never mind the the discs being dead what about you!? Hope youve purchased some axle stands.

I never went under the car and never would without stands.
Gettin it off the floor was fun!

Jesus Lee just read what you had said there! That's mad, glad all is ok tho lol
Anyone got views on types of disk? Grooved Eric pros and cons ?

I just use blueprint discs and decent pads (ds2500 seems top choice here)
And then a decent fluid, I use ATE super blue

I would use plain discs. Drilled discs seem to crack and groved ones give more
Noise and eat pads

Ah right cheers, just been looking online there and looks like the drilled ones have got a bad write up by many ha

Dude Campbell is selling dc2 hubs. Buy them! They come with calipers etc. straight fit so you'll have ek9/ dc2 set up. It's on jdmy0

I'll have a look but they all hate me over there lol said I was spamming when I first started up and just give me a use everyone I post... "Cool story bro" is what I get lol

I'm just running a b16b with intake and exhaust mods. :)

Nice! Ej9 conversion with hubs rear?

do a prelude front caliper conversion and use MG ZS 282mm front brake discs. Mine bolted straight on =D
