It basically makes the engine legal in the chassis. You have to get the correct ECU, Cat, Header, Intake, then take the car to the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) for a complete inspection. If it passed you can SMOG the car at any station. Also if you get pulled over the car/ motor is legal.

It's a California thing.

Seen this on youtube. Pretty rad car! Kind of jealous of a fair few of the parts on it haha
 
Small update:
Finally got my Mugen SS lip repaired and installed. Im very happy with the outcome/ look.

I also picked up a Drag turbo kit for super cheap, so i might be going boost soon.

swapped my engine harness, dizzy, installed CPK, swapped wheels to em1, installed timing belt covers, swapped intakes, VTEC solenoids. Now just need to swap headers and install the cat.
 
Took the hatch on a mountain trip over the weekend. Drove 392KM (260ML) and did some spirited driving on the back roads.
