ej9 - track it?

I first started track days in my EJ9 and all it had was an induction kit and alloy wheels. Even with stock suspension it was great. You learn so much from driving an underpowered car with stock suspension.

Seeing as it was just an EJ9 I didn't want to spend money on it, so instead I concentrated on improving my driving skills instead. As said before just check that everything is in order before you go on a circuit and you should be fine.

HOT Blyton Park, Sunday 19th Febuary.
HOT Snetterton, Saturday 3rd March.
HOT Castle Combe, Friday 13th April.
HOT Donnington, Monday23rd July (evening session).
HOT Croft Friday, 30th July (Vtec Challenge weekend).
HOT Oulton Park, Friday 23rd November.
HOT Anglesey, Saturday 24 November.

Cheap events & tuition. More dates being added, most events are sessions, great for beginners as you dont get carried away, and you can get plenty of advice from HOT regulars during the sessions :)

thanks for all the support and hints and tips guys. really helpful forum.

better get my hands on this civic sharpish then! and let the project commence ASAP!

Id be looking at track days such as oulton park and other in the north west area josh.

Need to buy it first though and mod it!! (may take a while on a low income as a student! ha)

No rush man got to do it right :) but def track it will be good fun, got me all excited now :drive:

have you acutally got one to pick up or one that your looking at? cant wait to see some pics :)

yeh ive got one all ready to go buy it, agreed a price with current owner and everything. just need the insurance side of things sorting (waiting for my dads credit card to pay it in one payment)

its nothing special atm but its in good nik. tiny bit of rust on rear arches. dent in boot lid. but other than that, bodyworks pretty mint!

had a new clutch approx 6months ago and full standard exhaust in may. also just had wheel bearings fitted, 83,000 miles

all EJ9s start of as nothing special still though amazing cars i was sad to see the 1.4 come out of mine when i converted it only had 70,000 on it :(

sounds like a good base though still cant wait to see the color any way you could get advert pics or anything up? such a nice color to work with.

this is the best pic ive got of my (soon to be) civic

yours looks lovely in your pic mate.
im thinking lows and bronze/copper rims. dunno what route to go though. maybe even some BBS seeing as its not a performance winning car
(seperate track wheels if i track it)

Looks good mate :)
If your worried about money and want it to handle well then just get some EK9 springs and shocks
I got mine for £85 and you wouldnt believe how well the car handled after, and then with some RS2s it was unbelievable and all that for less than £250 (at the time, this was over a year ago)
So yeah theres cheap and safe ways you can make your car more track worthy

will be putting up a members ride thread soon as i have just bought the civic!!! :D
woohoo!!!

just needs the drivers side front wheel bearing doing and insuring!!!! happydays!!!

Don't see why you shouldn't, I think it's the best way to find out how your car handles, what are it's limits etc but also gain some track experience

are EK9 shocks and springs shorter than standard ones then i take it??
more interested in if the shock absorbers are shorter???

thanks guys
