ek4 rally car

Sounds like a good plan to be honest, its near enough what im doing, but i wanted to build it myself as dont have the funds to buy a built car, plus this way i know every last nut and bolt on the car, and i know its been put together how i am happy with.
The ek9 engine will bolt straight in, and they have been selling on here for around a grand for a good one, which isnt too bad if you can sell the healthy b16a on, and fitting costs is the time it takes you to swap them, reakon i could do the swap on my driveway in about 4 hours, so easy to work on!!

Thanks mate, What is your plan for this year, would be great to hook up on a event.

Its London bus red lol.

The 1st stage rally im planning is caerwent at the end of june, thats the plan anyway, then depending on that will decide what i do next, definatly doing wugging after i had to retire last year, and you never know, may get to epynt or jersey if the money is there.

Didnt do much yesturday, got to the garage late then found out the dc2 servo wont go in the hole with the clutch master cylinder fitted, so after just fitting the clutch which isnt fun laying on your back in the footwell when your 6 foot 6 grrr...,so shouted at it, locked up the garage and went to the cinema to see TT3d.

So started again this afternoon, im on holiday so im not working on the car in the mornings, im making use of lay ins hehe, but got abit done today

And the main one.....

Got it 'lashed up' at the mo with the old battery etc just to make sure it still works after i stripped the loom and chopped a load out, and it does so now i have to wire up the kill switch and all the wiring for spot lamps and map lights etc, remove the old brakes and fit the new bigger brakes, drop the sump and weld in baffles, fit extingishers etc, and prep the doors and hatch for painting hopefully this weekend, so still got lots to do, but making slow progress, so im happy.

Do you have a non-return valve in the rubber fuel pipe at the filter? I was told yesterday you need to have a non-return valve incase scrutineers want to test your fuel, not that they ever would lol.

Sticking with standard calipers? Good man :) Get some Carbone Lorraine's in them and you'll be set :)

got some ferodo pads on order, ds3000's for the front, and ds2500's for the rear (only as they dont do 3k's for the rear grrr) Brakes would have been done today apart from the guy i bought a full set of mg zs 180 calipers off, included 2 nearside rear calipers! not the most useful brake setup!

Gota have a dry break fuel coupling for fuel sampling for a new logbook, but not fitted it yet, wanted to get it running then ill start doing the bits i need to do, makes trouble shooting easier.

Ill post up some more pics in a min

Get another 2 for the off-side and you'll out-brake everyone :) I'll have to look into the coupling, guess it must've just come in.

has been in for new logbooks since 2009, as i needed one on the clio, same as window film and mudflaps and all that rubbish, mubflaps and window film being mandatory from the start of this year, but dont think the fuel coupling is yet unless getting a new logbook, so i need to, but the red 205 doesnt. Its all rule crap for the sake of it

Got held up today playing with a mates motorbike with him, working on a mondeo for a friend of my mums, and had to rescue my cousin when she got a puncture, so not done very much today at all really, but anyway pics

Im happy so far, altho it looks like its going to sit alittle higher than id have liked, so will address that once its all built up, need to get the boors and hatch painted, and buy an ek9 front lip.

Hope everyone likes

haha that looks epic mate, i would drive to the shops with it looking like that no problems!

Thought id give abit of an update, been slowly doing bits and pieces, plumbing brakes, altho still waiting for pads grrr, finished making the exhaust, sounds lovely, deep and super smooth, no buzz or crappy rasp on the over run which i personaly hate, got the rear side windows in, dash done, spot lamps done, just abit of wiring up to do of spots, intercom, plotting lights etc, and today my fibreglass hatch turned up, been trying to find one for months and found a new one in deepest darkest Ireland for a bargin price, very happy indeed with that!!
Doors are currantly in work being prepped, not taken any pics of them, but they have been gutted and the side impact bar cut out, what a pig of a job that was, hopefully them and the hatch will be painted this weekend....,anyway, a few pics, some of which are in a very strange order
