EK4 Vti Track car.

Jimmy, it'll take a 1.6mm or smaller. Have a look at the parweld website.
Dean I live in the superlative sink hole that is Walderslade.

I got the manifold finished and bolted it up last weekend. Once I made the front half of the exhaust and fitted the first silencer in place, I decided i wanted to see if all my hard work had amounted to anything and took it round the block.

Seeing this silencer that took me a day to make bouncing down the road behind me was actually quite funny

It was so hot I could'nt pick it up and had to pull my jumper over my hands!

This week I finished up the exhaust and went back to the dyno.
Before I fitted the manifold the fuelling was very rich 11.5:1- 12:1 all through the rev range, Now with the new manifold and exhaust using the same map the fuelling is dangerously lean, 15.5:1 at worst. We did one run and stopped.
There has been a significant increase in VE due to the manifold and the map does not have enough fuel to take advantage of this.
The biggest changes in afr were at the 4500-6000 rpm which is where I had designed the manifold to work.

I've been speaking with a couple of people whose opinions I respect and shown them the before and after AFR logs and they agree with me.
In the next few weeks I am going to fit some adjustable cam gears and then my hero PerryMoo is going to map it for me. Once it's mapped we both expect a good power gain.

It's been a while since I updated this.

Since the dyno trouble Ive gone back to the factory to the factory map and added a wideband guage as requested by Perrymoo who is going to map the car. the fuelling is much better now. and I'm gonna stick with the factory map for a while. Also added some adjustable cam gears given to me by Perry.

The previous owner had fitted poly trailing arm bushes which I butchered out.
My elbow had been (Oops I said the F word)ing killing me for months but laying on my belly hammering these out has made it feel a lot better!!!!
It's made a big difference to the handling. the rear susp is now working properly and it does'nt feel like it's trying to kill me now. Best thing I've done.

Since I did this lot the car has had a second nurburgring trip without missing a beat.

I met Perry through a mutual friend and he is a very knowledgeable chap. He's gonna map the car at some stage most probably once I've fitted a larger TB and ported the Inlet. When that will be I don't know. I am currently fighting a legal battle for personal injuries and it is draining all of my disposable but should be worth it in the end.

Most people with any sense sit about drinking beer on a bank holiday. I made this, mowed the lawn and went running!
I realised after I bought the car it had no bumper bar and have been meaning do do something about it for a while.

Nothing better than some good DIY fabrications. Will be watching this tread in the future.

Even though I was pleading poverty a few posts ago I bought this from Livvy in the week.

Also I've decided to remove the stereo and speakers as I rarely listen to it.
