Mivec is even slower than SIR II and was supposingly created to compete the EK9 There is no competition for Dohc Vtec engines. They belong to a different level in their category. They compete each other. Nowadays, 10 years after, 1600 cc turbo cars are produced and they cannot exceed 160 -170 horses. Am I right? Repeat once again: EK9 makes small miracles!!!! That's all folksjamie said:hmm that Cyborg car supposingly does 0-60 in 6.2 is it faster than the EK9?
jdmctr said:I know of an ex-EK9 owner (now an Elise owner) who managed 5.9sec for 0-60MPH as well as 14.9sec 1/4 mile at Santa Pod. That was stock too, no mods. As well as spec (his was standard and not stripped out), it depends on driver skill too and conditions of the day.
As far as fastest 1600cc moniker goes, sorry think that has to go to the Pulsar VZ-R N1 from Nissan.
jugbugz said:also i have a couple of jap mags that shows those B16B's tuned to produce 220ps without having to bore it out to 1.8
Why when it can still be done as a 1.6?jamie said:just get stroker kit makes it 200hp and 1.8
jdmctr said:Why when it can still be done as a 1.6?
jugbugz - yup, I have the hyper rev books too. Great source of information and parts especially for the EK9.
SpoonCTR said:can you scan the most important parts and post the pictures?
jdmctr said:If Jun are to be believed, they're full engines (B16A and B16B) are able to produce and exceed the 220ps mark.
