Ek9 N1 ( Rase Base )

My ek9 is a race base N1 edition.

Personally, I like have wind up windows, less to go wrong & no ABS feels much better IMO.

But mines had Recaros, red carpet & cd player put in. Also I have an aftermarket steering wheel.

I bought mine over a year ago for a similar price to 'normal' EK9's at the time

I would love to have those steel wheels for winter for sure!

Does anyone know the weight difference between
the N1 spec & Normal Spec EK9???
:thanks:

EK9s weight 1090kg to 1040kg depends their equipment CIVIC TYPE R 1997.8

the reason of race base was not its weight but that was a cheap "naked" car you could build for your racing need

That race base looks awesome. I much prefer them with clear window's rather than tint's :nice:

I like the tinted windows personally but a fully stripped out caged B18'd Race base would be awsome the standard EK9s are just so nice I couldnt bear to rip out the interior and everything even if it is heavy. But then mine is a daily driver if I could afford a track only ek9 id love it tho.:nice:

hey guys my ek9 is a racebase and i heard from good sources, i might be wrong thought, that the glass is thinner than the normal once.....i love my car the way it handles everything...EK9 THE BEST! :) ciao!

sorry to who ever owns a N1 race base but why would to take one over a proper ek9

So does anyone know the Book weight for a Race base?

Yours will be not far off the weight of a normal one dunsy

Still got AC / PS / ABS

Only thing i can see thats lighter is the windy windows, no airbags and the front seats

its not got ABS and it wont have the AC for long

So really, how much does...

ABS
Air Con
Recaros
Electric windows
Electric Mirrors...

...Weigh?

ABS - i'll weigh it when it comes out but about 15kg i think

AC - 20kg

Recaros are heavy as fook, probably save about 10kg with standard spec seats

Leccy windows, won't save a huge amount, 5kg maybe?

Non folding mirrors save about 5kg i'd think

electric windows will be more than 5 kg i would have thought, maybe per side actually.

But like i say il be adding the cage so that will cancel out the AC and ABS

im not gonna be bothered about weight with a K20 to be honest

At last, just won one of these on the auctions in Japan. A toy of my own.

If your talking about the difference between electric windows and windy windows then there is hardly any difference in weight at all (we did a swap last week), obviously a lot different if your talking about fitting perspex etc

Sorry to bump up an old thread.

But have been reading up on these Racebase/N1 spec EK9's latey. Ive spotted a few knocking about, some seem to run 4 stud hubs rather than 5 stud, is this something anyone has noticed?

I personally perfer the more raw EK9s to the their chunkier sisters ;)

i've seen race base models with steel wheels and all had 5studs.
