What exhaust system will give performance gains without making the car louder? Is it better to stick with the OEM system?

Mugen twinloop Or a spoon street would b quiet! Prob see better performance from the spoon,

Fujitsubo RM01A is the exhaust you need. Such a great sound, and isnt too loud.

thanks for the reply lads, Spoon and Mugen are so expensive though. I'm not familiar with Fujitsubo so i will look into the prices. I'd like a custom made exhaust but it sounds pricey. Is the OEM EK9 exhaust very restrictive? Would a decat on a standard exhaust system give much gains and be quite? Sorry for all the questions!

custom exhaust if use big resonators it will be quiet when cruising and gains will be the same or more than the pricy jdm ones.
for b16b i would go for 63mm or 70mm tubing with 2 big resonators.
the smaller tube diameter will help with keeping low sound too !

Custom all the way, I won't buy a branded exhaust again.

:nice: Custom is the way forward if you have a decent fab place around you.

Fujitsubo RM01A's are only quiet while fairly new. Most systems around are well used and have little or no baffling left. Have an EG fitment one at the mo and its as loud if not louder than my old spoon N1 system.

If you cant find a decent local Exhaust fabricator then source a Mugen Twin loop. They are certainly not as restricting as everyone claims and will deffinitely outperform your stock EK9 system.

Im running a b18c6 in my ek4 saloon daily, got a manifold, decat, 2.5 inch exhaust and oem dc2 backbox, the exhaust is super quiet and yesturday it made 204bhp and 141 lb ft, so id say its not restricting it, id go for manifold and decat and leave the oem ek9 exhaust alone.

I'm with wooks! :blinx:

A good 2.5" manifold will yield the biggest power increase on a B series engine.
Adding a JDM cat or resonated de-cat will provide a more refined sound.
The oem EK9 b-pipe / back box should flow well enough for your power level.
