had a wee race

Hello

it was me :)) I liked your civic !

I had literally just serviced my motor and changed 2 wheel bearings so was just taking it for a quick spin to make sure nothing flew off it! LOL

big fan of the Honda VTEC engine, used to have a B16 engined CRX VT Mk2 a few years ago, it was a cracking little lump mine dyno'ed at 179bhp, feck knows what had been done to it... I bought it like that with only a filter and zorst on it as far as I knew... LOL

having put up with the fragile Rover K series in the elise for many years a K20 conversion in an elise was high up there on the wish list.

it still suffers some niggly issues with drive shafts and engine mounts but as long as you keep a regular check on them nothing tends to go majorly wrong.

the VTEC has been re-mapped by OMEX HQ in Cheltenham at 4250rpm right through to the redline.. it keeps the brutal kick of cam switch well away from track driving conditions.

I suspect there is another chap on here I know in Norwich called Alan with a Silver EK9

the sad thing is I only ever see cars that I'd like to have a play with when I'm driving my diesel golf, typical.

Steve.

haha small world :D

I enjoyed every second of being beaten by a K20 eninged elise R..

Whats your 0 - 60 time... must be under 5 seconds at least cause the way you took off amazed me.

Ha, nice :D Elise or Exige with K20 (or ultimately, if I have the room and space, K24 build) is on the top of my list of which cars I want to have eventually :D

0-60 is around 4 sec's for an N/A, slightly quicker on supercharged versions if you can get the power down. ive had nearly 140 down the back straight at snetty so i dont doubt for a second its claimed top speed of 160 is possible. I still have to short shift 1st a bit as i still need to tinker with the linkages as its a bit wooly at times.

a K24 will go, one of the directors of Omex / Phoenix Motorsport is running a K24 in his but ive not come across it much so im guessing its not the weapon of choice.

this is the sort of view i had. :p

lovely car man, nice pics with the back off. its a go kart with the fenders and such. hopefully you'll work out the niggles soon enough..

so cool.

my friends building a k20 JRSC elise right now. im assuming its going to be the fastest car in the world

Ive got a mate in Cambs thats got a Jackson charger on his, also a charge cooler running a Hondata module. hes putting out about 350Bhp and 450+ Bhp per tonne.

theres a chap on youtube thats done a turbo'd k20 install around 500Bhp. but in my opinion about 350bhp is the maximum before it starts getting to insane to enjoy.

Perhaps you should take a second look at the part I actually highlighted and then tell me where you've gone wrong....

WOW i was 0.2liters out doesnt mean i have no clue what im talking about i got 1 little detail wrong, dont judge someone by a small typo i dont presuume i know alot but i know alot more than what you are asuming
