hi guys

i have jus sold my ek9 :) and have now got a ek4 but i want to make it quicker then the ek9 which was standard has anyone got any ideas, i do not think i want to turbo jus want to keep it a vtec:) can anyone help lol

i am only 19 and i got done for speeding so got 6 points and the insurance was like 3500 i wish i could of keep it.

swap in a b18c and youll have a beast.

You will struggle to hit the b16b power output with a b16a with simply bolt on mods.
Not to mention the gearbox ratio and lsd.

i dont think you can handle more power than an ek9 if you cant handle an ek9 responseably

Did you get banned for having 6 points? Anyways just get used to the power of an EK4 first before you have more power or else its dangerous to yourself and others. The EK4 is already a quick car.

I'm interested in this question too,so may be anybody knows the cheaper way, how to increase horsepower number, than b18c swap?

Having a powerfull engine doesnt make you break speed limits, its down to the driver behind the wheel. I assume that getting 6 points has probably opened your eyes and will make you slow down... Now back to the question at hand, Engine swap is going to be the cheapest route to go really as you can sell your b16a and that should get you some funds to go towards the b18c I think you will be happy with the power from that engine for awhile

Swap is a huge problem, because to get B18C in Lithuania isn't that simple like buy sport air filter....Of course the swap will cost way too much for me... Also if i could buy it, how should install to my vehicle? I really don't know much about changing engines... Also the car will use much more fuel, now for 100km it uses 8l, but b18c uses about 12l, am i right?

Its an easy swap.

You probably wouldn't notice that much in fuel cost difference from the engine itself ( as long as you drive sensibly ) . Its the gearing that would make the most difference.

Are you in the UK Liam?

I take it you have no intentions to declare the engine swap if you are already struggling with insurance?

:secret:aem cai intake
60,5 exhaust
dc 4-1 header
ecu tunning
aprox +-185ps
will be pretty stronger than now
but that will never be like your old ek9:(
