I sold my vti-s last nyt and have all the money ready to buy an 98 Ek9 i want.. Bt i can not get insured.. Wont even give me a price..Just say no.. Been with fbd for 3 yrs and have over 2 yrs ncb and they still wont..Any1 have any suggestions,,South east of Ireland:angry::angry:
 
have u tried a few different company's. if not take out insurance on a different car then chance it over a month r to into the policey
 
if your just changing the car on the policy just tell them u have the bought and its against the law not to quote u
 
had my vti-s insured n rang 2 change it to a type r n they said its against their policy to insure jap cars.. ever hear such ****..I have tried a load of dif places.. Some say i have to be 21 and others just say no
 
it cant be against the law as it would be very silly for the person in question to buy a car before they got a definite anwser of "yes".... They do not have to quote him... In that case pass your test at 17, buy a fiesta, get insured 1 month down the line buy a Skyline then get insured...

Doesnt work that way....

Ive heard its extremly difficult to get insured on type R's until your 21.....
 
most insurance company's wouldn't insure me on my JDM EP3 till i was 25, the only sensible quote was from Admiral with my mum on the policy bring the price down.
 
like i say...i was 20 years old when i got my civic...bell.co.uk, mum and older girlfriend on the policy...but they do both drive it.
 
Listen... I got insured on a DC2 itr at 20, nd hav an ek4 SIR now nd i'm 21 frm dublin.

I'm insured wit quinn, ring dem up nd tell dem you've jst bought a car nd want to insure it, if they tink you hav de car already they'll giv u a quote...

Jst make sure you hav a reg, nd wen they ask you do you want 2 change your policy rite now say u jst gonna hold off see if u can get it any cheaper sumwer else, they mite even bring down ur price!!!:nice:

Jst tel dem u wanna speak 2 a manager if they refuse nd tell him u hav friends who r insured with dem already:)

I no its alot 2 take in but trust me it works, i've 2 mates under 25 who r insured on an evo 7 and impreza wrx wit dem aswel as myself so no reason u shudn't b either. Gud luk:nice:

Myt try some of the them 2morrow..Have tried alot already..And i already tried it.. Said i had it bought. had the reg..Still said no as i didnt have a previous policy with them..My friend is 19 and got insured on a 99 ek9 for 1950 der on monday and he only had 1 yrs ncb..I am a yr older and 2 yrs ncb..May spend most of 2morrow trying to get it.. Then get the car:D:D:D
 
Thats a very good price.. I am the same as you without the accident.. I have 2 points for using the phone but they say that dont matter.. Can i b insured on a uk insurance company if I from ireland thou

Here in Canada, it's much easier, as long as you have the $$.

Is there anywher in ireland that specialise in insuring jap cars with young drivers (20yrs)

I had a similar problem but I found a company in the end that will insure me under similar cirumstances.

Im 20, 2yrs NCB, No points or convictions, driving 3 yrs with 1 accident.

£1300 Fully comp BUT I will have a £1000 excess if an accident is MY fault.

Just to let you know you can select different excess options that obviously affect the total price.

If you look hard enough you can get insured with almost anyone.

I was 21 when i got my 2000 EK9 Rx - I had an SP30 (£200 fine + 5 points) and a DD40 (15 Month driving ban + £1000 Fine) and only 1 YNCB and my insurance was £2200.

I wasn't bothered about paying that much as i wanted the EK9 and it was my own fault it was so dear. Thats with budget insurance who dont really specliase in anything i.e imports, modified etc.
