ITG maxogen, Mugen or J's?

Very nice, When I've got some money I'll be putting an order down on one of those bad boys. What sort of gains are you looking at from the airbox?

Dear friend.
Mugen is the best by far. (Carbon airbox for heat +++Price).
Dont get the J's (as its shape is not suitable for 1.6l engines, and soaks up hot air from engine bay and the right headlight). I tested it and thank god i removed it.

If you want the best buy a Fujita F5 Cold air intake. You will be surprised. Cold air is what your need and Fujita does it better than Aem style.

Sorry if this is too off topic, but have you ever thought about a BMC CDA? Think they are about £160 to buy, just buy some suitable piping which wont cost much and voila!!

I noticed better mid range gains, and during hot weather, it works really efficiently. No dyno proof of this unfortunatley though :(

have a bmc cda on my ek and its a great upgrade from stock

I'm using a Honda S2000 CDA (48cm length) fitted to an 80mm intake arm, I've also retro fitted a 90mm velocity stack inside the CDA housing, works very well and gives a 90mm-70mm (tb end) taper. I've tried different length intake arms on the rolling road and the length I am currently using seems to be optimal (for me anyway, non standard).

Our intake will have pictures and fitted pics on friday!

I've seen the ITR Mugen intake fitted to Tegiwa's Phoenix Yellow ITRx, looked like a very nice piece of kit.

dont waste your money trying to chase power figs, just throw a tegiwia ***** on and drive the thing.

I would not want to support a company ripping off ideas from companies who do all the hard work to develop them......

Go mugen!

You would also not if you lived in the uk spend £800 on an airbox.

This.

While I would love the genuine Mugen article, I'm not paying £600+ when Tegiwa's replica is every bit as good for half the price. Friend eventually settled on an ITG Maxogen, it's a nice looking piece of kit and it does sound pretty damn tasty in V-tec.

I'm still holding out until I get my bursary so I can go and buy a Mugen replica from Tegiwa.

would it have been to hard to use one piece of foam around the opening for the filter? just a thought, physically looks pretty much the same as the mugen otherwise! :nice:

This setup along with a good exhaust system made me 222bhp on my B20 Build.

Good choice on the ITG Maxogen I say. :D

That's a lot of power from a N/A B20!!

been out in said friends car when I was in Liverpool a couple of days ago. It sounds very good, not as loud or aggressive as I thought it would be but it compliments the Tanabe exhaust beautifully. All in all, it's a very impressive bit of kit. Think I'm going to wait until after my field work in Spain, if I have enough money, I'm seriously considering an ITG myself or a Mugen/Tegiwa rep intake.
