The car is at GTRefinishers having the final step - a full re-spray inside and out.
I spoke to the owner (Grant Walker) earlier today and I will have the car back by next weekend, so final pics not far away (until I decide to throw a K20 in there anyway!)!
Well more progress over the last little while - the car will be finished tomorrow, all that will be left to do is apply the livery and all will be done for now.
Let's take a little look at the past couple of weeks though, through the prep work and the beginning of the painting, although I won't be giving too much away until I can post the complete car with paint finished and the interior all re-fitted (what interior!?!).
Any way, it was decided that we were going to delete the fibreglass bolt on flares and go for something a bit more subtle, so Andrew set about making some from steel to blend into the body:
As you can see there is a pronounced flare but now looking very much factory seeing as the flare is made out of steel and painted properly rather than my rough-as-guts rattle can paint jobs I've done in the past!
Here's a pic of how the front looks, much, much nicer but still looking tough due to the satin black paint!
You must be pretty damn happy with your car Tim, it certainly was honking at Taupo! Nice lap times, almost cracked into to 1:17`s......... I need moooar powa, oh and slicks would have been nice. Good luck at Hampton Downs and i`ll see you at Puke.
