JDM EK9 Race car project nearing completion

Wicked car, alot of fab work time and effort has gone into this and it definately shows! :nice:

Well its been a long time since the last update!

Been busy at work, play, family, etc, and racing doesn't seem to have enough time these days!

Since last time I was here I've done three race meets and besides starting slowly to try to get to grips with the car posted lap times consistently in the top five or six cars of the competition, and excellent result as far as I'm concerned! More seat time needed though as I feel the car has got more in it, I just can't drive it as fast as it will go!

I will be taking a break for a while to let the wallet recover after spending what equates to the GDP of a small South American country on the car over the past year or so, but any outings I do make I'll be sure to some back here and post pics for all the faithful.

Thanks for looking again.

wow, what a build! amazing work, and hats off to yo for making all the little bits.

it little details, which in my mind, make a car.

awsome.

Thanks mate.

Breaking news!

Just scored an ATS plate LSD for.....

$500 New Zealand dollars! (less than 200 pounds sterling)

The guy did SO not know what he had...

His loss my gain :nice:

mate does this clunk at low turning speeds?

Wow! Awesome build, I admire your attention to detail.
I want to flare the back arches on my dc2, I'm not sure how it would look though. Any Done it to theirs ?

Wow it's been a long time since I was last here...

Work has kept me busy the last couple of years and haven't had much time for racing, but got some stuff in the pipeline you all might like so just teasing!

Looking to go full on time attack mode with the car to make use of the aero meaning a turbo build (5ooHp plus) and ridiculous width...

Good to see so much love still out here for the EK9, still my favourite car, even after driving a 400hp focus RS for the last couple of years!

More soon!

Will do my best mate, life has a way of getting in the way of hobbies!

Bought a B18cR fully forged block I would like to throw lots of psi through so that will be the basis of the turbo build. The block was built by a local guy who made just under 300HP naturally aspirated with a 2L B series motor so built to the highest standards, hoping it's absolutely bulletproof. Have had it going with the B16b head and ITB and made good power and torque so who knows...

Stay tuned!
