Nice to see two ek9s on the prowl
That gear change sounds painful..

Matt: massive short shifts meant you pulled on the straights, without two camera we will always get blue flagged and only get a few laps of footage in per session.

Muiris: It was horrid! That noise is me trying to engage reverse! I was trying to heel toe too fast plus was putting the wrong tension on the gearstick. So it was either hitting the "gate" between 4th and reverse or just catching reverse.
Went out the session after and took my time on the down shifts. Works perfectly.
So users retardness was the issue basically.
Will be replacing the oil soon I think lol

We should both see lower lap times once we get out in warm weather. Thers snow on the floor in that vid and didn't get above 0 all day.
If you've only got one mod to go on your track civic, it needs to be a plate lsd.

Yeah bar like 2 caterhams and probably the Clio racecar we where the fastest on the track when we wernt messing about like in the vid.
Can't wait to go again. Be good to get some more ek9's out though,
You can see jake123's car in that vid aswell.

Haha it's all good fun isn't it. I said to myself I wasn't going to do a trackday in April but somehow I've found the budget for it lol

Hopefully matt can come too and well get some more videos hopfully some faster ones lol

Cheers guys glad you liked it. I think Jesse has covered most things me, I've emailed the photographer about some photos of the day should have something soon.

Matt : still hoping to meet up with you but haven't booked it yet. I've had alot more practice at brands so don't expect to much elsewhere ;)

When is your next track day i might pop along in my 9, still need to loose my track virginity lol

I believe a lot of ek9ers are going to Combe 3rd of may.
Unfortunately I'm away so can't make it. Will be at brands some time in the middle of may probably.

Well little bit of an update I'm really lax with these of late but like to keep it going just for my own record as much as anything.

As some people know I went down to Castle Combe for a track day with Ian, Matt and Martin recently and had a great time but before I did I had a few little jobs to do:

Fitted my water temp sensor (I had been holding off on this for ages as I had been meaning to drill and mount it directly to the housing on the block but I went for the hose insert purely and simply because it was quick)

Fitted my new front camber arms:

And took it down for alignment at DMS:

Dialled in more aggressive setting pinched from a combination of Dixon's time attack DC2, StevenEK9s settings and Ijwhitemans
Queue exaggerated camber shot:

(Disclaimer: This photo makes it look for much more extreme than in real life and OH MY GOD!!! It is defiantly functional.)

After Combe I felt my brake pedal was a little long so just before Japfest I flushed it through with some fresh ATE Superblue.

After a 15minuite session on track feels very similar to my RBF660 I previously used but a hell of a lot cheaper. The real test will be how it stands up to abuse on a full day or the weekend trip to the ring later in august.

Combe video clip to come shortly.
Thanks for reading.

Decent update.
Camber is definitely worth the cost of the arms/alignment/tyre wear. Purely for the track handling.

Oh and WE flushed the brake fluid lol

Few more updates jobs that I really should have done before:

Bypassed the coolant line of the throttle body:

Removed the PCV and setup a simple breather into a little bottle for now will get a proper vented can at some point but it works fine:

Some of the stuff I removed:

Bought a Koyo rad from MattO and got that fitted found it was a bit of a squeeze.

Koyo VS OEM really does just show up how small the standard radiator is once you remove it:

Drained out all my coolant using the drain plug on the block and refreshed with Motul Optimal Honda Approved of course. (surprised as although when in the bottle its orange its actually green once you pour it out)

Clearance between slam panel and rad:

Cut a Lump off my air box and bent the expansion tank back slightly which meant that I had a bit more clearance and I wedged a small piece of rubber in the gap just to prevent any rubbing.

How she sits now:

Future updates:
Fit Mocal Oil Cooler with thermostatic plate (purchased)
Relocate Oil Temp and Pressure Sensors (Pressure adaptor purchased, and sourcing a bung to be welded into the sump for temperature)
Repaint rocker cover, lip and wheels (probably going to be a little while yet)
