Loads of B20 Information

hye guys....

i'm planning on building b20 engine....
my current engine is b16b...

here's the stuff :
1.skunk2 pro series stage 3 cam+valve spring+retainer (complete cam stuff)
2.porting & polish head
3.CRV block with 85mm wiseco or supertek forged piston
4.h22a injector
5.Aem/toda adjustable cam pulley

8.2.5" piping

Is there's anything that i need to add?
i need your comment on this

I would go with at least 70mm/2.75in piping or 3.0 in exhaust if you're going to run that much cam and compression. You'd better have a good header too - though the hytech copies will be ok since most are the copies of the 2.0L big tubes from back in the day.

Forget the AEM "Tru-Slips" go with Toda for reliability. The last thing you want is for the camgear to slip and you make piston to valve contact or valve to valve contact ruining your entire motor.

Go for an injector that's at least 440cc.

what max hp can 0bd2 h22a 280cc take?
is it worth getting the complete engine rotating assembly done?

Realistically, without bumping the base fuel pressure to stratospheric levels, you could probably get away with 220bhp. Consult your tuner and trust in his ability to guide you appropriately.

Some like to run a smaller injector and high fuel pressure vs. a large overall injector.

out of curiosity would a b20z block and b16b head be reliable for being daily driven, or does the valve clearance pose a problem there?

Stock head and block wont have any issues,

If its tuned right there should be no problems.

Hi i have Civic K4 B16A2 and a CR-V 1998 B20B3.
Can i try B16A2 stock ECU on a CR-V stock engine without problems?
I wont to upgrade my CR-V for more power. I like to make all terrain with my crv but it need more power.
Regards

you cannot use the 16A ecu on your B20B3 motor.

the 16A is vtec and the B20B3 is not. Beyond that, the fuel maps are not adequate for the larger displacement motor.

Your best bet might be to use a JRSC for low end power. You'd need a special kit that would enable you to use the VTEC version/M62 charger on your B20B3.

hello guys...

Just want to share some information
i've completing the building up of my engine last january..
due to some funding and budget crisis, i've downgrade a few things..

1.skunk2 pro series stage 2 cam+valve spring+retainer (complete cam stuff)
2.porting & polish head
3.projected CRV bottom with 85mm wiseco forged piston
4.h22a injector
5.Aem adjustable cam pulley
6.OS Giken clutch
7.Skunk2 pro series intake
8.2.5" piping with mugen 4-2-1 header
9 walbro fuel pump
10 super90 70mm TB

i manage to get 234.56 hp with 21.12kg trq

Very good info!!! just in time that Im looking to build b16b head with a 18c block, and now Im even thinking of the B20!
thx for share ur knowledge^^

n its reliable too...
i missgear a lot, n i revv @ rpm 9.....
still not blown up

do you guys resleeve B20s or just run them with stock sleeves?

cheers

B20vtec are great.. I'm running 223whp daily driven and it goes very well. If you want torque then the B20 is for you :)

Lost of good info gys,

im Wondering, i have a B16b, thinking of stroking it out to a 2 L using a Toda Stroking Kit ( Toda Europe ) , what are the Pro's / Con's for a 2 L B18c or B16b vs B20 ?

im thinking its going to be better because the B16 and B18 Series are hand built race tuned ?

i could be wrong,

Let me know

Cheers

what was your water and oil temp before and after swapping the the B20B? water temp after sustained high boost run?

im using b20 in my eg..got a lot of trouble,,headache..
VAFC disconnected suddenly..engine wont start..noise sound inside head.

i have stock b20b non vtec on my ek ferio, i love it for daily driving. its very torquey!!

when fitting a crank girdle what are the tightening torques for the main bearing bolts? i cant find them anywhere!
