This thread back fired on the OP..
I think the lesson to learn is that for the first 3 - 5 years of driving, unless you have alot of money, you simply have to insure basic cars under your own name until you are of an age where insurance comes down.
There is no way around it sadly, just have to suck up those years and then have your fun.. Obviously alot of younger chaps can afford it but unfortunately the world isn't fairs the majority of us have to do what i mentioned above..
I've had 106's, saxo vtr, escorts, fiesta's, golfs.... All cheap cars with cheap insurance. We've all been there but soon enough before you know it nice cars are affordable..
I remember the wait from 15 - 17 before i could drive and it felt like ages for that time to pass.. Now im 24 and time seema to have flown.
Sorry for the life story lol just wanted you to know. Its normal to not be able to afford toninsure nice cars while you are young.
