Mother releases footage of the moment her son was killed in motorbike crash.

My mrs showed me this last night. A Sobering sight to say the least...

This sort of thing is the reason I don't have a road bike and just did Green Laneing. Don't even do that since took up mountain biking.
Shocking, just shows how quick things can go wrong.
RIP.

his own fault IMO, sad that the driver got prosecuted, hes now got to live with that forever. Bikes are so vulnerable though, read somewhere he was doing nearly double the speed limit :nerv:

Brutal video.

Big respect to the mother for not becoming anti motorbikes etc, not regretting his many years of enjoyment gained through riding. A great attitude IMO.

He was doing 97mph at the point of impact. Shouldn't really have been doing those speeds, especially overtaking near a junction. But thats hindsight for you. I'm sure we're all guilty of driving too fast at one point or another on the roads.

Certainly an eye opener.

RIP.

Wow, that's brutal. As said above, such a vulnerable mode of transport. Very sad....

Not all his fault, even if he had been doing the speed limit it would of probably been very close.

I've had a road bike and ended up hardly using it as every time I went out someone would pull out in front of me or start pulling out and stop half way across the road:angry:

The standard of driving/riding on the roads today is shocking really
And no I didn't ride like a bastard.

These things don't always happen when going fast.

Most people I know with road bikes just do track days for this exact reason

From the time he screamed to the time he was lying still on the grass was literally seconds!

I've had some close calls on my bike before i sold it, people don't release how quick motorbikes come upon them as from a distance there a small object compared to cars etc bike riders have to pay extra attention IMO as accidents can very quickly as this video clear shows..

I drive down that piece of the A47 every day and the amount of times people pull across like in the video is amazing, no-one can wait for a gap it seems, always in a rush. To be fair a lot of people probably aren't expecting someone to be bombing down there at nearly 100mph, but you've still got to be aware of the situation.

Saw this the other day myself, so sad to say the least, find it harsh that the driver was convicted of whatever charge for this as the biker was doing 97mph which if he wasnt could have led to another ending with this one maybe being put down as a close call, However people have to pay extra attention when coming out of junctions etc now the amount of people who are to lazy to stop the car to look and jst roll out thinking noone is there. RIP to the biker and props to the mum for putting it out there not a killjoy in anyway just trying to inform people !

The difference between the speed limit and the speed he was doing may well have been the difference between life and death.

Feel sorry for the driver who now has to live with that.

I agree with the speed difference thing,

For professional accident investigators to decide that the car driver was also at fault they must of had good reason,

They will know better than some person on a forum that's just watched a video!!

Yes it must be hard on the car driver and everyone makes mistakes. At the end of the day the car driver is still alive

I'll admit I did grimise when the car came into the path of the biker, then had alittle moments silence once he'd hit the floor and the camera still rolling. Happened almost too fast to think.

I read that the car driver told the police he didn't see the bike, or a car that was just behind the biker.
So he's admitted to driving with undue care and attention right away.

Oh shiit.... made me jump. Crazy how his life ended so quick like a snap of a finger. RIP :(
