Also with the help of my dad managed to fix most of the damage to the boot floor. After i striped out the rear interior and made some big wooden brace to put between the shock brackets so we could press off it :nerv:

Well that's pretty much it for now got a couple of more dents to sort out then i jack the car up check all the bushes and other pieces underneath, If their all ok then in a couple of weeks i go get the car MOT and VIC.

Once thats done then i strip it down ready to send it to paint. Hopefully there wont be to many problems and money will be ok so i can get this finished for japfest.
Cheer for reading guys keep checking back for more updates :nice:

Very nice man the colour should be very nice looking at the car you got the parts off! As said love projects like this bringing things back to life and to their full potential! :thumb:

Nice wee update. Car looks outta place with the green parts until you spray the whole car body it would look mint.

Goo luck with the project, that colour is eye catching to say the least haha!

Ye i probably delay putting the car back on the road until i can get the rest of it painted. I try get most of it done probably leave the engine bay though until i take the engine out further down the line.

UPDATE

Not a huge update but did some more work yesterday, dropped the fuel tank out so my dad could knock the last couple of dents out underneath the car, Cleared all the sound proofing out and filled the last couple of dents in ready to paint the boot.

UPDATE

Well got the car MOT today and amazingly passed with only 1 minor for a chip in the windscreen :wow:
Which is amazing considering the car has been sat in a bodyshop for the last year and a half so just says something about honda's build quality.

Shame i couldnt drive it to MOT station due to not being insured, But went up with my dad and the car felt great had a smile on my face for the whole journey :p first time ive ever been in a vtec honda and cant get over how nutty the engines are dad dropped it down to 2nd gear at 60mph a couple of times and it just kept pulling.
Cant wait till its all finished and insured you probably wont beable to get me out of the car :drive: :))

Only down side is the more parts you strip off the more rust you find if only Honda put abit more underseal on

Cheers for reading and check back soon :nice:

Looking good so far dude, keep at the hard work

Thanks again guys :nice:
Ye cant wait to get it done, was looking at the pictures of the guy's car i brought the green panels from and it looked mental, just hope mine will look as good.
Im staying with 4 stud, going to tidy the blade wheels up and powder coat them black then use them as winter wheels them probably get some team dynamics pro 1.2's in black for summer.

UPDATE

Well been a busy day my original plan was to just paint some brackets and paint my headlight inserts.
Me and my dad then started thinking and looking round the car and think of the jobs that need doing Bushes, engine mounts, clutch/flywheel, Re undersealing and painting the bay ECT. I've to scrap my original dead line of Japfest and just take my time and do t all properly in one hit so im going to strip the shell back besides the interior.

So Friday i washed all the arches and underneath the car to see what's what and get the old underseal off so i can redo it at a later date.

Now today was the big day getting the engine and front suspension and subframe out in one whole piece :nerv:
So started off striping parts off.

20120331_1139261.jpg

Till it looked like this.

20120331_1525171.jpg

Then with more fiddling trying to get the engine loom out of the passenger foot well dew to the rusted mounts, More fiddling with the rubber hose, Powersteetring and aircon (great because i dont i have to put it back)

Jacked the front up as high as it would go then we where ready for the big drop :p.
So with some bits of wood, a jack and abit of swearing. we started to drop the whole front end out the bottom of the car.

20120331_1543571.jpg

Managed to get it on the floor and then with more lifting and swearing :p got it on the trolley and this is what im left with.

So there it is, overall wasn't that hard only took 4 and half hours or so which isn't to bad considering it was stop, start and the first time getting a Honda engine out.
So next job is to start separating it all and get the suspension components ready to be re bushed and painted.
Sorry for the lack of informative pics kept forgetting to take some haha
Cheers for reading :nice:

Looks great man! Considering dropping my engine out. Just in the process of a 5 lug myself

Thanks mate. Ye its not that hard i might not have done it if i wasn't painting the bay but now its all out im glad as there's a few bits that need to be replaced. If your in the process of doing a 5 lug you might aswell as you have already taken some bits out.

Now the decisions is do i refresh the engine why its out or do i go down the route of if it isn't broke dont fix it.
