Hey all! Thanks for having me here...

After owning a Suzuki Swift GTI, Peugeot 205 GTI, a couple of shitters, and then a 1965 VW Type III notchback, I moved to Japan and then three years later, after failing to find a good EK when I needed a car, I bought a Subaru WRX STI Impreza.
That got me 'back in the game', so to speak, building up my tool collection in Japan, getting to know my way around the community/shops/workshops here...and the all important rental maintenance pit at TRIAL.
I also got to several track days, and entered 2 all-out races, which has been some of the best experiences of my life!:nerv:
The last track day at Central Circuit was in pouring rain on AD07 tyres, and half the corners at CC are reverse cambered....pretty hairy....I had 3 offs, including 2 spins and a straight off at the 1st corner after my brakes failed over 650C or so.....again, great experience.....but,

I really wanted an EK!! For a long time, maybe 10 years, I have wanted one, and finally landed one last week.....well, I bought it but have not gone to pick it up yet, so as far as:pics: .....sorry, nothing yet!

2000 EK9 Type RX, with most options.
Championship White.

White 16x7 RAYS TE37 / Advan AD07 in an odd 4 x 114.3 DC2 96 configuration....hub swap?

Mostly stock apart from....
TEIN TYPE FLEX coilovers
Top Fuel Whales Dick intake
Buddy Club exhaust
DC2 98 spec exhaust mani
Panasonic navigation (much needed in Japan!!!)
FRP bonnet, stock shape, CW paint.

I will post pics when I get the car!

First mods will be a Black Bride Zeta III Type L (bigger one) bucket seat, my takata harness (from STI), nardi wheel (from STI) w/quick release for theft, Spoon calipers and disks w/Endless pads (been sitting in my house for 6 months!)...Bride Brix II passenger seat (from my STI) because my wife hates the red seats....

Then I need to do the brake fluid, DOT 5.1. Also I will do the fluids, all round...and setup the suspension, right.

I look forward to posting on here, and learning about my car. I have been lurking for ages....and actually joined the site when I won an auction for an EK 2 years ago: an auction which was later cancelled! No explanation given....I gave up and bought the WRX STI after that.....

Yoroshiku Onegaishimas!!

joey w - thanks mate, I just need to get it ready for the track, but make sure it is usable daily, too!

VTec Performance - Is that your Accord?! They are really nice. I actually properly searched for a EuroR for a short while, before figuring they were too much money for what they do, in Japan at least. Great looking cars, and good for dailys, but for the track, I figured it was best to go for a integra or civic....

Ryan-EK9 - Thanks! Of course I will take some photos when I get the chance...my next day off work / only day off work is wednesday, so I will get some shots....I will head to Mount Rokko asap, not to race, but just to take the car for a nice, spirited run! I will take pics up there, too!

elchunk - Thanks mate! I was searching for a black or silver EK9, actually, but gave up after realising that 99.999999% of them are Champ White....you are very lucky/ or fortunate to have found a good black one. That is so cool. I think all colors are nice....yellow, black, white and silver ....but there is always something very desirable about BLACK!!!

LowJoe - Thanks! It should look right at place with my current NANIWA plates on it, but actually, It is much more rare and interesting for me, to see EK9s in the UK or elsewhere! There are not a lot over here....I probably see one every 2-3 weeks on the street. I see a lot at the track, though, A lot of the survivors are probably tracked. When I went to Suzuka, after our sessions ended, there was an all-honda session! It was pretty awesome, especially the sound!!! The EG dirt-bag civics with straight through exhausts.....some of the tracks that have sound level rules would have killed off these EGs before they even got a lap in! But, at SUZUKA.....they got a full day of racing in, no problems.....so cool. The EKs were in full force too....about 4-6 of them, all loud as hell, and fast!
Actually even in my session, in the final freetime run, I got absolutely embarassed by an EK...
I was going around the left hand long turn before R170 or whatever it is called, and a CW colored EK just absolutely bounced the inside of me.....I accelarated for a quick second, before realising that it was impossible for me to keep up....so I chilled out, kept steady in 3rd, and pounced out of the corner after him......my acceleration beat the EK, but he was already too far in front, and heading to that famous, dangerous left (R130) corner, or whatever it is called.....and was gone by the time I had rounded the F1 chicane and hit the straight.....**** it, time to get an EK.....ha ha.....well yeah, I know it was probably more the driver than the car, but anyway, this episode just reinforced my wanting for an EK!!

ROEK9 - Thanks mate, see you the discussion boards!! You have the black rims with CW paint?! I want to paint my TE37 rims black, as soon as is humanly possible!!!

Sarkel - Thanks, I will have to dig up some old photos, yes! Petrol head?! I guess I have always thought so, but have never lived up to those thoughts.....recently with some track experience, though, I hope to build up more experience, and become more of a doer than a talker......

Darragh K - It seemed like every time I had decided there were too many 'beat up' EK9s or no EK9s 'in my budget' that I was maybe missing the point......Yeah, this is the mother land, so probably my best chance to ever own one. It took me 4.5 years of living here,.....and I have a bunch of friends who own, race, or love hondas, so I feel good that finally, I, too, have one, coming next week!!

Gav EK9 - Thanks mate, is that your carbon hatch EK in the photo?! If so, that is crazy....By your post count, I guess you are a long time member on here.....I hope I can be a good contributing member, and learn a lot on here. Cheers.

JORDAN101 - Thanks buddy, I see you are an ex STI owner, yourself! How did you find the difference between the STI and EK?! The EVOs and CLIO are two other models I have seriously considered and searched for, before deciding on the STI and EK. The CLIO is called the LUTECIA in Japan, and the main reason I never bought one, was that they are left hand drive only in Japan.....I guess you would get used to driving it, but since most parking machines in Japan are right side service, I figured it would become a bit pain in the ass....ha ha...

Colliemcc - Thanks mate, it looks good, but I do not have it yet....have to wait to see...ha ha...but yeah, regardless I am happy to have this project in front of me.

DEMIAN - Thanks mate, rad yellow EK!!! They are reeeeally rare in Japan, very hard to find....and yours has the perfect black rim set-off....cool! How did you get that in Argentina?! Is it an import from Japan?!

Cheers guys...
