onto engine number 3..........

Whats the difference in the weights of the engines?

Much the same, sure the k20 may be marginally lighter

Chris, 235bhp! Whp being the most important, the additional 25whp in the midrange is VERY noticable over the B18, don't need to wring its neck in every gear! Lazy power, haha

Torqz @fly mate? I know all the dynos are different just checking to your bolt ons, the SK2 etc. Driven a couple of built B18's, they were very good but the K20 is effortless on the road, especially with some gearing goodies :win:

Epic build up, can't believe how quickly you got it up and running.

Hopefully if I get round to this (one day) I can get it up and running with no hitches just like you.

Great work and awesome car. :)

Mine is currently 235/160 as well. A mate of mine has pistons, bearings, Mugen cams etc and is only running 235/160, another guy with only has a DC manifold and piper exhaust and has hit 245/180! I guess they all vary, video shows the pace though.

You have uprated fuel pump?

Ah right!!

As you say they all differ, certainly feels like it has plenty power, see how it equates to better lap times

Has a walbro 255 fitted yeah! Tuned running 55psi fuel pressure

Playing with corner weights this morning and right enough can clearly see the weight distribution has flipped side to side. Backed off a wee bit of preload on the front passenger side to compensate

clutch is pumped after 500 miles.........

pretty sure one of the springs has let go on the friction plate, grief i could do without!!!

will need to pull it out this weekend and see about getting it warrantied if that's the case

it does have correction and he did say there wouldn't be a huge amount more, 5-10whp at most

vtec is about 5.5k

engine wise the mods are

70mm RRC manifold
70mm hybrid racing throttle body
karcepts intake
skunk 2 mega power manifold
200 cell sports cat
true 2.5" system with single rear silencer

took a video of it through the gears, pulls well enough on the road

k20 ek9 civic acceleration - YouTube

Vtec point seems rather high given your setup. Mapped almost identical setup bar it had a decat rather than sports cat which you have and vtec ended up at 4700rpm.
Seems to pull well in video, 5.1fd is a great mod:nice:

Cheers matt!

so stripped the box off yesterday to investigate the clutch problem......

3 of the 6 pressure plate bolts had worked loose

inspected everything and no damage done, torqued the plate down at a much higher spec than what honda specify this time and added some loctite for good measure

all back together and out for a run, working perfectly :nice:

good to hear you got the problem sorted.

Bolts should not work loose now with that gear on them!

now go have some fun :drive:

Really good read this is!! I still can't decide between Kswap or b18!!
Good job with the car..
