No offence, but deciding by what you feel through a game controller :? I find that kinda weird. How much motor/freeway driving do you do?

It didn't make my decision it just helped by being able to see the differences. The gears and speeds where almost identical to the MFactory calculator. I've used videos, opinions, gear calculator, my experience of changing the sprockets for more acceleration on bikes, and now my video game. It all helps!

I only have on opportunity to get this right. I'm trying everything! :D

leave it for now and sort that loom!!!!!!!! (seeing as your broke :p)

But if you find you're going too fast through 3rd gear, why not get a shorter 4th and 5th then?

Cause i like the spacing through the gears and a final drive is cheaper on installation than gears. Also i'm just comparing 3rd to ring driving.

**** it mate, if your gonna do it, do it proper

4.9

I agree with that man ^

Just turn the music up on the motorway to drown out your screaming engine :naughty:

Saying that though, I have fallen asleep in a stripped EK9 with a 5.2 final drive on the motorway (thankfully I wasn't driving it), you soon get used to the sound.

LOLWUT 5.2??? :X Insane :p

But is there noone here you can have a drive with in that car?

As i said from the start of this thread for the "ring" wich you like to do quite offten then it HAS to be the 4.7 mate!

You have defo made the right decision there!:nice:

I have just bought haitch old gearbox with 4.4FD & 3rd- 1.695 4th- 1.296 5th- 1.130 plus Spoon LSD!:))
My car will then have top speed of 125mph, thats with a 9000rpm rev limit too!

So i will be keeping my stock gearbox just for going to the "ring"

Iv been thinking about this too. Im probably going to go for the 4.7 as Id hate to get the 4.9 and then regret it.

4.9 for normal use. Spare transmission with a 4.7 when you go to the ring ;)
