Ridiculous prices!

Too right never paid over £1200 for insurance before when I had a gti-6 at 19
No idea how people afford it!

Lucky for some, I'm going to try get on a friends business insurance, see how that goes, just need to check its all fully legal and covered

Its not a bad quote but I can understand you being pissed off over the jump to 1800,Would it have something to do the vat increase ?

Insurance should never be higher then the value of the car.
And they wonder why there are so many uninsured drivers out there.
Biggest crooks on the planet.

Iv never had insurance problems before...

Admiral wont add the EK9 onto my familys multicar policy and wont give me a quote with me as the main driver, even though I had S2000 with them the previous year. Quoted 960 with my dad as the main driver, which is a joke as I have always been the main driver on my policy since I have been 17(23 this year) and I was paying less than £1200 for my S2000 last year when I had just turned 21. ****ing bullshit.

Churchhill wont provide an online quote with me as main or secondary driver.

Who else should I try that wont just result in 'Im sorry we cannot provide you with a quotation at the moment' patter.

Churchill wouldn't give me a quote on a mini cooper s, they are useless, admiral have upped there prices by around a third over to course of 6 months for most people under 21 by the looks of it as similar things are happening to people I know

Really? Admiral quoted me just under £1000 about 3 months ago on my ek9. Im only 20 with 3 years no claims.

I'm 23 with 0 years NCB (but had a license for 3yrs). Got my EK9 last month and got quoted £950 (paying yearly). When they did a search on the 9 by the reg plate they couldn't find it so entered the details manually.

Don't see how Admiral can't quote you as a main driver? :s I'm with admiral on my ek9 and I'm the main driver on the policy- 21 years old and 3 years NCB with parents as named drivers and I'm £642 a year fully comp. Hoping to get it below £500 for renewal in October

Just got a quote from the Bell website of £761 with me as the main driver etc, ridiculous since Admiral website just gave me that we cannot provide pish.

Correct me if I'm wrong but are Bell,Admiral and Elephant not all part of the same company? Insurance confuses the hell out of me! Lol

Yeah man, EUI Limited IIRC. Total joke haha.

Haha the mysteries of how insurance works goes on....

I'll never pretend to understand it,yet I still pay it. Lucky for me I've always had pretty good quotes compared to some of the figures that have come up in this thread!

If itsthe car you have and the car you want, and insurance is reasonable nowadays for younger drivers thats like under £2000 then pay it..

But on the other hand 689r are all these quotes online maybe giving them a call would help?

Christ just get a runaround till you are 25 what a waste of money,

Christ just get a runaround till you are 25 what a waste of money,

Average premium atm for 17-21 year olds is something like 3gs's wild.

i insured my car today with bell for 762£, but they roasted me and didnt email the insurance docs till after 5 when DVLA was closed even though I bought insurance ~11 oclock.

the reason i dont phone is because it is infuriating, the waiting, the horrible hold music and some of the inaudible conversation from the other end.

i had to phone bell today because they didnt email rapid and it took 17 minutes to get through. urghh.

I pay just over £2k per year on a 91 CRX VT, fully comp, 3rd party indemnities on any vehicle, legal, breakdown and windscreen cover.
I'm 18 and have 1 year NCB, I also live in the worst postcode area in Leicester.

Alot of this is probably down to postcodes.
Some companies quote you a ridiculous amount so you don't buy the insurance
