robthedoc's ek9 turbo, adventures in boost!


Thanks for the kind words guys.

Wee up date... head is on the block and oil pump and end seal are on. Cams went in today but after discussions with the tuner the decision has been made to upgrade the valve springs. He's supplying Rocket Motorsport springs so we don't suffer from valve float at high boost/rpm. I'm learning new things with this all the time. Almost everything is here and ready to go in. Sump won't be here till at least the end of next week so I will probably need to run with the original sump to get it fired up and start the run in process. The reason I can't wait for it is... there's now a date for mapping! And it isn't far away!!!!

Thanks man, i've got massive respect for your build as well so that means alot.

@xxxencorexxx has it spot on, I'm up in Edinburgh.

Car should be all done in the very near future and I've got a couple days off mid feb so might drive it down to my sisters in London. Will try and catch up with @jesse888 in Kent when I'm down.

Be good to get the three turbo 9's together if your free mate.

Come as well if you want mate... can't guarantee that you won't want to boost it when you get home tho ;)

Thanks for the offer pal, i doubt i could make it due to work. Im hoping i can get some time off to make a ring trip, as for turbo i would love to but face two dilemmas. One i cant afford spending a couple of grand, and second i always thought would keep the ek9 stock it being such a wonderful car as it is. Its vicious as we always want more power but where does it end.
 
My cars going for cage 20th Feb. Will be drivable still as I'm driving it up there.
 
MyHondaHabit sump stud kit







Looking forward to seeing if this cures the sump gasket issues, using the stud kit with oem Honda sump gasket.
 
Hate waiting on parts but it's got to be right. Making some changes, ID725s are coming out and Injector Nation 1000cc are going in. Mac 3 port boost solenoid is out and Hondata 4 port is going in. And DC2 dual valve springs are coming out and Rocket Motorsport are going in.

In my head I was working through the finished spec as if I was writing a for sale post, its war and peace! Theres not much Honda left in there!

Ehhh I doubt it mate, early next week hopefully. Gives me two weeks to run it in. Could be doing with a 10 degree increase in temperature and some dry weather tho.
