Skunk2 or tegiwa

I'm sure a week of taking laxatives would give your the same gains.

What is up with everyone on this forum squabiling about silly little differences in exhaust manifolds????? Does it matter!!!

The Alpha is good.
The Tegiwa is good.

They are both around £400....and give good gains, and are a damn sight cheaper then big branded 'scene points' designs.....

We should be lucky that there are quality, cheaper alternatives out there such as these 2.....because lets face, what is the point in spending £800+ on an exhaust manifold when more often then none, our little 15yr old civics are barely worth 3 times that.....

This is just my cynical view......:)

Is that the C in your name Ali-C , Ali cynical? lol

:D

I know exactly what your saying mate, just reinforces what we was talking about!

Looking at manifolds myself at the moment. Was advised to go with a vibrant 4-2-1 but the sheer cost of getting 1 in from the states is mad. The tuner advised me not to get the mega-power header an i'm waiting for him to get back to me with results on the alpha header which skunk do

check civiclife plenty of reviews on their just now !!

So essentially lloyd your saying to increase your 1/4 time by 0.24 of a SECOND its £400 quid.

It was same strip, dry both days, i hadnt changed anything on the car other than manifold, both events wer run by straightliners,as far as i know their times are accurate, i can only assume the manifold was the improvement,

I would say the Tegiwa header is good.

Two of my friends have them and they look the part and one has had it tuned and made good figures.

I am even talking my friend with an EP3 into going for one.

i think if you havnt got a lot of money to spend on a header then the Tegiwa is a good shout.

They are Toda reps after all

If you have the money for a Skunk2 Megapower then I would go for it as Im soooo happy with mine!

I'm really tempted by a tegiwa manifold, my only concern is if they are an exact rep of a toda then how is it under half the price? surely the quality cant be as good for that price.

Dont quote me on this but it is very likely that Toda themselves manufacture costs on each manifold is only something silly like £200 (guess). Its the power of the Brand which is a result of the price.

Admittedly, variables such as these may have something to do with the price.
-Toda were the ones who did the initial Research and Development, so maybe their price is part payback on that cost.
-Depends on the volumes sold, economies of scale and so on.
-Toda's materials and manufacturing techniques may differ and be more expensive.

Lets just say, I'm sure (but would be interested to know for sure) Toda have a bigger profit margin on their manifolds then Tegiwa do on their reps...

when choose a header dont look only hp gains posted by companies here and there...

consider
-ground clearance if car is a dd
-construction if you dont want a broken header
-stainless steel can handle rust
-replicas are replicas they cant give same results as original pieces..
-always a custom header made by someone who knows will give the best results on eatch set up.

i have a tegiwa header and a plm one
tegiwa is better

tegiwa cant touch toda in quality but they are close tho
-welds are better on toda
-pipes match better on toda
-flange is better on toda

toda costs 900-1100 euros ?

a custom header will give more hp in this price range
toda is the best of the self manifold imo.

could be wind direction speed or you improved your launch

What's the difference between the megapower and alpha series headers? Both have the same kind of features but the megapower is double the price

For the money i don't think you can beat the Toda replica.

From what i researched before, the Alpha has smaller primary tubing compared to the megapower?

and surley if the Alpha is Identical to the Megapower (which i think is not) yet just a cheaper way to manufactur and do the tig welds cheaper blah blah... if this was the case then surley skunk2 will be stopping the production of Megapower manifolds?
