As the title suggest i'm looking some decent tyres for my standard/track alloys. Got it down to three choice's the hankook RS2's, ad08's and R888. my question is however what profile do you guys run. 195/50/15 205/50/15 etc.. and what are the different types of r888 like?

195/50/15 and add to the list Fedral RSR's that's what's used in the buddyclub civic cup and there good in wet and dry.

195/50 205's on OEM rim will feel horrid because its 6".

Don't use oem wheels they are

HEAVY
Poor offset
and only 6"

You want a good offset, atleast 7" and lighter.

As for tyres out of those 3 Toyo R888... Also try Toyo R1R my bro has bought these and look very impressive similar construction to R888's stiff side wall and pretty soft. But cheaper.

Just my 2 cents

They are well worth the money and last a lot longer than R888 got mine from japshop. Speaking with Shaun and Paul they came out top for track tyres that they tested and that's why all the civic cup cars have to run the RSR's.

Yea i've got a full set of jdm itr alloys but i prefer the 15" feel. and im a cheap ass and good 16" tyres are expensive! humm going to have to look into some wider alloys me thinks.

Yeah i prefer 15" too. there lots of 15's out there with good offset and 7" rim. :nice:

That sounds like your keeping the 9 best thing you will do. I sold mine to buy a house then got the chance to buy it back so win win really. Keep it!

Fighting through! :nerv: I really don't want to be getting rid of anything! Its taken years to build up my R1 and my EK9...

We may also be buying a house which a few things have happened last few days which may be swinging it around for us. Nurburg may be out of the question this year though.... :nerv:

et 42 i would say depends on the alloy. whatever gets the wheels further apart to make your car more stable and lower the centre of gravity!

team dynamics pro race 1.2 15'' et 35.
tyres toyo r1r. 15'' 50 195. £61 each i think and ive proven them a really good track tyre. would like to have a look at these federals.
think thats a great set-up. works for me anyway

yea those federals seem like they could be worth a go. just need to sort out some wheels to put them on! :nerv:

Also on the Pro race option.

Will be goin for Pro Race 1.2's 15"x7 ET35

Seems like the best allround size and offset. I was going to go for Black Slips but on an EG6 its been done to death and i cant seem to find them in ET35. Plus im yet to see and EG with black pro race 1.2's

As for tyres im yet to try any road/track tyre so will be going for the cheapest like Hankook RS2's, Toyo R1R's or Yoko AD08's. I think any of those will be a big change to crapy road tyres.

Hopefully the Teamdynamics dont turn into the new rota slips.
