Tyres..... Decision Help needed!

i was after 45 for the less play in the sidewalls

Ive found some online for £48 each delivered on blackcircles :)

Had Prada Spec 2's on since the start of the month, did a session on track at japfest in them,

so far i do like them, great grip; on track i felt like had enough grip for the pressure i was putting on the car.
In the wet they are fine (i doubt anyone drives silly in the wet anyway) i run a 50 profile on the tyres and the sidewall is a bit soft, nothing drastic but for me is the only shortfall of the tyres.

As for compound these do feel a bit soft but they last?? i did 500 + miles plus the session in coombe and they tyres are still looking in great shape

See if you can get Ross to comment on these? im pretty sure he had them on his 9 and i imagine he's used them on track a fair few times?

I cannot understand how anybody can say TIRs are good. I really genuinely cant. For road use they are fine, granted. Push your car hard on track, they are poor!! They were lacking so much grip it was unreal.

Hankook RS2 are in a different league. And the obvious semi slicks.

Im using T1Rs up front at the moment for daily use just to use them as i bought them a while ago but i cant wait for them to run out so i can use the RS2 up front for daily. I already have RS2 on the rear.

I was so impressed with the RS2's at last nights Brands Hatch session.

exactly,my mate has a set of t1r's on his civic and they fall miles short of my hankook rs2. value for money the hankooks are hard to beat. After all the toyo t1r is just a budget road tyre nearly every garage will have them in stock

Exactly!

And they feel a budget tire. Unless i was on a very tight budget i wont be buying the T1R's again. For track days they are a waste of time.

At £57 a tire for the RS2 in 15/195 they are my current favourite tire by a long way. If only the R888's werent so pricey now a days. But im not too disappointed, im happy with the RS2.

GOD DAMMIT i dont know what the fook to get, need to get em this weekend,

basically im stuck between Spec2's and T1R's

will only really be used in summer so mostly dry so we weather doesnt really bother me that much.

 God Damn annoying tyres,

or spend the extra for RS2's ...... now ive gota find somewhere that does hankook RS2's ....

to get a price

i hate having to do things in a rush!!!

t1r's like dan and me have said is a waist of time if your going to the track or doing any kind of hard cornering.Mate put his civic threw the hedge with t1r's lol the hankook's are the best out of the 3 you are thinking of. Pm neiller he had hankook rs2's and parada's and he rated the hankook's the better tyre up to you tho mate. the less people buy of them the more there is for me to burn haha

PM's Neiller but think im guna go for RS2's just pay the extra £££ , well see how much more they are! :)

ill be able to sell my old R888's to re-coop some money (not loads of tread but good for a couple of track days!)

You wont regret buying the RS2 mate. If you like driving your car hard on decent roads its important you get the right tire. Your car relies on them.

Hi neil, I obviously didn't show you what half an hour on track at mallory did to my spec 2's??? front nearside had completely delaminated. I've got a picture I'll have to put it up. Also they are CRAP in the wet!

I've always loved the eagle f1's but I've heard they've stopped making these?!

i can confirm what bacon said as i was there. also my mate had the spec 2's on his 306 rallye and there were dreadful. at the minute im running the toyo R1R's and i cant fault them, and after a very hard days driving at snetterton in scorthing heat the coped very well.
so thats what i'd recommend.. toyo R1R's

R1R's wernt in my price range, in future ill be getting something semi slick again but for now ive opted for Hankook RS2's

They arrived yesterday, £215 for x4 Delivered, Then £30 For fitting & Balancing.... and Inflated with Nitrogen at now extra cost! Winner :)

Going to swap em over tonight & start wearing them in then see what they are like!

yeah i think so. both in the wet and the dry. feel very stable. will be interested in RS2 tho. might pop them on the track wheels when i get them.
used them for half a day at bedford and they seem ok in the dry... dunno about the wet tho.

Hankook RS2's FTW. i had these last time round and they were brilliant. wore down pretty quick though (lasted 3-4 months). but amazing levels of grip. Probably be getting two for the front of my car soon as one of my tyres has an egg and they're pretty crap anyway!

t1r's are s**t, sidewall is far to soft, feels like your driving on jelly. How are the rs2's for sidewall stiffness?

t1r's are crap. ive used them. the R1R's are different tho. there more R888 than T1r.

So how are you finding the RS2's?

I'm planning on getting a set next time around, will be using them as a daily, with a lot of wet weather as it is Ireland after all :D
