What I have been upto with the EK9!!! **(more updates on page 3)**


A few updates that I have been on with this past week!

Finally got my front bumper off the car & into work for me to repair the cracks & paint damage/flaking.

Hear's a pic of it back on the car (moved the reg plate over to the side too)

When I did the bumper I also took the chance to take one of my spare rocker covers into work to have a play at a new design I had seen on a race car!:nice:

I also found a battery tie that I made for my last 9 in my garage, so I thought I would fit onto my current 9 (be rude not too really:p)

I have also been experiencing a knocking coming from the front of the car, so I got it up on the axle stands to take a look.
I found some play in my my steering rack/ track rods (inner & outer) so I replaced the full steering rack with a spare I had in my garage!
While I was there I noticed my drop links had seen better days so I replaced them too while I had the car in bits!:nice:

The 9 is back to driving as it should now & is ready for it's track day at donny next Monday :drive:
 
Rocker cover and battery tie look class mate, did you make them yourself ?

Yeah I painted the rocker cover myself.

I made the battery tie myself a few years ago by hand out of a block ally, hours & hours of filling/sanding on nights at work!:lol:

Great to see you putting so much work into the car! Sounds like it will be driving perfec again so!

Battery tie down is savage! :))
 
you could be onto a money spinner if you start making and selling them battery ties :D
 
Also forgot to add to my update was-

After fitting the steering rack & drop links I noticed slight play in the passenger wheel bearing (when putting wheel back on)
So I got one ordered for the day after & got that fitted too.:nice: (just be sure everything was 100% right)

The time it took me to make that by hand, I would have to charge a bomb :lol:
Plus I like being the only one with one!:p

If I still worked in the machine shop, I would be able to write a little program to make a batch up on the CNC's. But I work in the spray shop now, so I don't think I'll get the chance! :(
 
Not so keen on the rocker cover but that battery tie is cool, well done.
