What makes us different to Ricers and Boy racers

Just thought it would be interesting to hear some opinions on why we are morally above those stereotypes, or if anyone even considers themselves one of them?

And when talking to someone who considers you one of the above, what do you say to convince them otherwise? or do you even bother?

If there that kinda person then I don't really care for there opinions :)
 
myself coming from the renault 5 gt turbo side of things i used to get labelled a chav and boyracer but the truth was my gt turbo was standard looking even down to the 13inch wheels and was mostly driven in a repectable manner

there will always be ignorant people, you will never change them, so just keep doing what your doing
 
If you have a old normal civic/Clio/Astra LEAVE IT STD
Save your money and buy a decent car.

Theres a few near me 1.6 Astra - "Buy tacky wheels, put some fake carbon on ect"
Just making yourself look stupid.

I Think I did it right, old Mazda 323, Micra, hit 27 - Clio 172 then EK9.
Spent a good wedge on it and why? didn't polish turds.
 
they say to me at work im a boyracer but it honestly dont bother me i just laugh they dont understand thats all
some people spend money on clothes or drinking n going out or evan holidays i spend money on my car thats what puts a smile on my face

Yeah this is my argument, the **** some people waste money on.

I love the OEM look, and some people really don't understand that either :)
 
If you own en ek9 you aint a boy racer, unless you drive around town centres ect.
When they call me a BR i just say

"How many BR do you know with handbuilt forged race engine and wheels that go for £390 each new!"

Plus the 9 is an icon, in any form.
 
See I dont even know what a ricer even means, fcuk car culture. its all about driving.
 
yea i know what you mean some people dont understand now i like oem its good but i also like to be a little differant but its the differance what seperates us just depends on what differances we choose i.e. proper mods styling etc. or big daft body kits n shiny wheels n big daft stickers lol
 
yea but thats the problem they dont evan know what it is just see a suped up honda lol as they would call it and yea is all about the driving :nice:

I just reply with, the car looks exactly how Honda rolled it off the production line, the car isnt driven in a boy racerish mannor around built up areas, although on track it is driven flat out.

To which i get the reply oh your a boy racer on track?

No i'm taking a keen interest in driving fast but within a safe and legal space.

that really annyoys me. Like spoon callipers! peeps pay a fortune for 10 year old technology, but willwoolds are what? £200 per calliper for example?

yup! i know a chav who doesnt even drive, and even he sleeps and sucks so much jdm dick, and jdm to him is like a religion and anything that isnt suddenly is crap

one thing that sucks about the jap car scene is the people who wank off the brand names

i remember when a friend told me that a lad had bought a dc2 with horrible bodykit on it and he was adamant he was gonna stick a factory kit on it, but when he found out it was a mugen one suddenly he loved it lol
