Im trying to sell my Ek9 at the min. Im in northern ireland and ive a 98 ek9 with just under 40k miles on it and in very good condition. Car is completely standard with 6 mths tax and mot. I had it up for around £6700 and im being told its far too much for it. What do you lot think?

I would say £6700 is too little if its a minter with that mileage!

It didnt come with any history or anything like that. That should make a difference though?

Think its a bad time to be sellin at the moment though mate, what with all this talk of global economic crisis and the like - there's people that have had to drop well below the price these cars are worth just to sell them.

I think the lack of history will most likely mean a drop in the price anyway though...

It's going to be impossible to prove that mileage is correct man, I wouldnt believe it.

as mentioned i would fine it hard to beleive the mileage unless i seen totally clean engine and engine bay to be honest

think 6700 is slighly to much though especially with no history

Well believe it or not I purchased my 98 spec EK9 for just £5450 end of August this year from a private sale. Managed to haggle down from £6400. She has done only 67k miles and is in excellent condition inside and out. The interior is also top class. Some Jap history with auction sheet etc and receipts for works done to car over the past year since she has been in the uk. She came over as a Grade 3.5 but without rear parel shelf, original mats and titanium gear knob (which I have subsequently bought mats and shelf for £100). The chap I bought from was in desparate need to buy an Evo which he had found so I think I have been very lucky. She has been a dream to drive over the past 7 weeks and touch wood, nothing wrong to date!! I now feel like the cat who got the cream so to speak after reading this thread!

your the guy who bout damiens then im assuming?
seen your car parked outside your place ;)
shes a good car fair play . . . D looked after it well.

but anyways. . . . . . . . . . . . . its a **** time to sell a car.and ye i doubt u will get a good price the way things are unless you find a true true fan of ek9s who happens to want your specific car etc.

Car was imported in april and ive an mot with 55800 km on it. Im first owner and there now a mixture of kms and miles on clock reading 61k and with the condition of car I know for a fact mileage is correct.

I know for a fact mileage is correct.

u cant know for a fact..mearly give what your saying a slight back up due to physical condition.

id say your probably looking at putting it up for 6500 with the hope of getting 6 ish at the most. just the way they seem to be going lately

I thought mine would be worth 7.5k ish (W plate Rx with front fogs), mint condition, 90k miles.

UNTILL I saw Livvy struggling to sell hers at 6.5k:eek:

Hmmm I don't feel to hot now
I paid 8k+ in june (pre global crud) for a 67,000 mile grade 4+ 2000Rx minter

and since then i've piled about 3.5k into her
I'm not to worried as i intend on keeping her for 5 years+ (can you ever do that?) :p

The markets for sh*t atm...
I'm selling my audi a4 which would've been worth 5.5-6k+ a few months ago...
now i'm struggling at 5k :'(

Good luck mate :)

I would but im a girl and it sounds likes its a load of fellas in their ek9's going to the meet.

What difference does that make, you should join the party, sounds like it's gonna be a good one...

I just got only £5700 for my black one, 60k with new alarm/ tyres/ painted wheels.
Exactly what it cost to import without any work. Not a good time to sell:nono:

i wouldnt sell mine for any less than £6500-6700...maybe even 7

I have noticed that pre facelift are holding their value a bit better than facelifts, they are better looking i suppose ;)

97 R Reg with around 60k on it, alot of Japanese history, Top quality Parts (Cusco, spoon, mugen etc...realise this doesnt make a difference to price but it is a reason not to drop), Recent service and Timing belt done.

i would rather my facelift over a pre facelift any day of the week
