I agree with you. Think your 100% right in what your saying! You were only putting across your point which everyone is intitled to an I agree with your point!! Anyway back to the heading. Haha
Sheep. I'm sure you wouldn't say the same thing of the 'socially acceptable' highs, which kill thousands more than those which you refer too. Open your eyes a little rather than succumbing to the propaganda of the many anti-drug proponents out there...
I dont do drugs because i just dont, choose not to. Everyone has thier own choices. As for sports i am from South Africa initially so sports was my thing then came to Uk (Parents are british and dragged my ass to Sunny Wigan of all places lol). I ended up getting addicted to gym which is good and bad. If you miss a few days its depressing to **** lol.
I go every day ish for about two hours except weekends.
I want to take up boxing but you need to be a little fit, although i can lift weight if you asked me to jog down my road i'd die lol cardio/fitness died when i moved to uk lol got lazy.
I like that you said you don't touch drugs by choice, rather than those that blanket the subject with insults towards those that do through lack of understanding and knowledge. Refreshing.
Your story is very similar story to mine there mate, only I came over from Australia (yep, rugby and long distance running all the way in my youth!) and now hit the gym pretty religiously. Cardio is also far from a focus for me, find it quite intensely boring by comparison to lifting but push myself to at least do a little for the good of my body. How long have you been weight training for?
In the 7 years I've been on/off my training, I've learnt a few valuable lessons that I wanted to share;
That depression when you miss a few days is BAD news man, led me to stop for a lot longer than was neccessary on a few occasions. Just gotta pick up where you left off and accept the brief trip up. I know how much it used to get to me though, but things became a lot easier when i learned to accept that it just happens, no matter how dedicated you are.
Used to train 7 days for 2 hours a time myself too, but likewise, that method is also pretty bad news. Have done quite some reading on the subject in the past couple of years and an ideal session shouldn't really pass much over the 1 hour mark. It's also far from ideal to do heavy sessions more than 2 days running (recovery is vastly underrated). PM me if you want some good books (in .pdf format) to back this up.
But the most valuable lesson I've learned in my 7 years? Diet. Diet is the absolute key to it all, we're talkin 80% of the battle. Get it right and you can't lose...
