Which Exhaust Sounds Best?

None of that 'droony' and 'hollow can' sound. Just pure sound :D
It was much louder and aggressive with Js intake. But now its smoother with the Comptech

ive got tanabe 4-2-1 headers, decat pipe & mugen twin loop cat back. best sound i have heard on a civic with b16a2 ! :) good balance between loudness and performance for the street. ive heard people with straight through systems which are way too loud for street and drone like hell even when cruising at constant speed. how annoying!!

it depends what car... then perhapes we can say the best sound.
but i prefer, spoon N1, J's racing! :)

Headers also contributes to the sound. A 4-1 header will have that WRX rumble beat. 4-2-1 is smoother. I've just changed my 5zigen header over to TODA and man the lower rpms sound :nice: Much more tougher sound.

Generally yes but the buddy spec 3 is the exception. The rest are far too loud like the spoon N1.
Dunx

spec 3 is awesome in vtec but it is still crazy loud! not so bad with the bung in though
i found it to be real raspy too when used with decat

Spoon N1 b pipe and back box with a mugen 4-1 manifold and Decat sounds pretty intense!

-Amuse for outright noise
-Spoon for beautiful high rpm noise (lousy/annoying low rpm)
-Mugen for sporty everyday note

My Tanabe SMR sounds awesome at full throttle and has a nice rasp on lift off, but has deafening (seriously cannot hear the passenger talking, hurts your ears) resonances at 1500 and 3000rpm. Annoyingly around the cruising speeds at 30 and 50mph.

Looks ridiculous on a standard rear bumper though. A rear lip helps hide it a little.

buddy club pro spec sounds awsome, you dont get any horrible resonating when you lay off the throttle like you do with the spec 2 but hearing a spec 2 is something else, there just unnessacerily loud but fly by sounds sick, problem with spec 2 you loose the sound of the vtec crossover coz its so damn loud..pro spec for sure..

kakimoto n1 super mega,my mates got one on his dc2 with a cat fitted and it still pops with each gear change...sounds mental in vtec..hummmmms nicely..

yeah my smr was like that so i bought a spoon N1 (loved it!) then i stupidly swaped the
N1 back box for a buddy club pro spec cat back  its so loud at crusing speeds at around 3-4.5k 70 mph might have to chop the flange off the buddy club get another spoon N1 and weld it on:D
