What was it that convinced you to buy an ek9, and what was your first impression of them after you drove one?
Looking forward to some interesting replies:nice:

well i can tell you why i converted my ej6 to an ek9: handling :nice: then power :nice: and lets not forget how beautiful they are :D

just fell in love with them.. you never know what to expect when you race one..
and there are just to many American muscle cars here( land of the red necks lol)

i don't own one but will in 8-10 months time, basically the EK model civic always had something special to me i liked the way it looked, then aftewr playing gran turismo 3 i found the EK9 and loved it. I forgot about it for a few years and then after reading an article about the best traffic light runners the EK9 was top of the list. After this i started looking at lots of videos and reading as much information as i could find.

I've never sat in one or even viewed the real thing but i know i will love everything about it!

To me buying this car will not only mark my enter into full time work but also it will be a symbol of 5 years hard work in higher education

The EK9 already had me and it didn't even had to start the engine :D

good love story :nice:

Forgot to say that i once in school a good 8 years back a road safety promoter asked a handfull of us what our dream/fav car was, the usual aston martins and ferrari and such were mentioned then it came to me....... civic type r i said, strange thing is ill actually own my dream car :p

Some great stories there dudes, especially ry4N. I'm in a similar situation, as I have not yet driven one (gutted) but Im always wanted one, and fingers crossed I'll buy one asap after my first test drive.
Ive always been into turbo cars, but Ive got a soft spot for vtec

Up until a month ago I hadnt even seen one in the flesh, after one test drive I had to have it! Just been for a b-road blast today, handling is sublime. My other car (mk1 clio turbo) would blow it to the weeds after 50mph in a straight line, it has coilovers but its not even close with the 9 for handling, and the EK9 has loads more feel, a drive to tescos is even exciting! Fantastic exhaust note, a car that has a major grin factor just sitting in it. Im hooked!

iv owned one for the last year...its the curves of the body the handling and 185bhp in a 1.6l.people say it cant be that fast its only a 1.6 then you bring them for a spin an they either have a big smile on their face or they are scared..i drive mine everyday an never get bored of it!..they're jus a fun car to drive...you love them or you hate them simple as...i love them!!!i want a yellow ek9 now though

my friend used to have a mint pre facelift ek9 and the first time i saw it i loved it, especially the sound when he gave it mad vtec up the road

decided i wanted a new car and thought of maybe a civic vtec but then my friend took me out in his ITR and the civic had to be a type R :D

still haven't got mine yet but hopefully only a couple weeks now, i am dying to drive it now :D

from the very first time i saw one i wanted one and at the start of the year i was getting a deal that couldnt be passed so did

i bought it for its rawness pin sharp handling high revin vtec felt like driving a go kart with 4 seats and a roof,

but im sorry to say ive had to part with it got another offer i couldnt pass for the car so took it was away today and gave a depoist on a 99 altezza rs200 in sliver 6speed manual 210bhp its no civic but is more comfey and with the wee man being 3 i thought would be ideal specially with the lsd

well .. the look of the Ek9 alone ..won me over ..it is amazing and plus mine is black so it is even better to me ... the recaros and the red against black was a nice sight to see. Then i knew they handled well and performed very well ..not super quick cars but very fun to drive. I LOVE MY CTR !!!! jus that i want it to be quicker lolollol but it is lots of fun to drive:nice:

Coming from an EP3 CTR I just wanted the uniqueness of an EK9, I've loved them since Gran Turismo:D An EK9 is just special.

Similar with tycovic though, could do with it being a bit faster now.

Well all started when I started running in Autocross events with my EVO 3 , I ate the dust against the TYPE R's (ITR) since I really don't like the look of the Integra type R I started searching for a EK9 on japan, found one and bought it.

Received my car but I had my doubts, imagine changing from a 280 hp AWD to a 185 hp car hehe, well I felt in love with my ek9 when I beat a Evo 3 on a uphill with a lot of curves hehehehe

Some honda crazy dude came to me and said it was my mission to purchase A EK9 type r he was very clear that it had to be A ek9 and that if I didnt buy one vtec would be lost forever. It could have been A dream but I coudnt take the chance of loosing vtec forever so I bought one

So now for the real story I always had honda's and after I sold my eg6 sir2 I bought A toyota levin bzr(see pic) which had a long list of modifications. I was well impressed with the performance and the sound of the ITB's and also sorry to say it was faster around the bends than the ek9 but however even though this car had vvt it never made the roar that vtec does and I soon longed for that sound again.
Initally I set about looking for A ITR but when it came to calling the insurance companies they woudnt insure me, but they would insure A EK9:clap:
My buddy is part owner of a jap import garage so I went to him and took out A ek9 for A drive and instantly fell in love with it. within A month after that I had mine ordered from japan and received it the following month since then havnt looked back and defently no regrets

had a few ek4's, just a stepping stone to getting an ek9 really due to insurance.
the car is beautiful with a sweet vtec note, handling like a dream :)

since i use to own a uk spec EP3 CTR, i fancyed something different with the amazing handling to go with it........

plus the fact its down as the best CTR ever made by honda.......well at least until they made the new CTR Sedan in my eyes :D

Drove a EK4 for the first time and fell in love with vtec decided i must have some of it myself.... was originally looking for a Jordan but descovered the EK9 and i had to have one :D Loved it so much ive bought my second one
