Work before sale

I'am thinking of selling up my EK4, as i really want an EK9.

The paint work has completely gone on my front wings and bonnet. Do you think its better to ge the work done to the car to bring it back to normal?..... or just sell it how it is now? Will it be worth the extra interest it brings looking mint again?

i would definately get it painted mate will get far more for the car if u fix it as anybody that goes to view it will try and get quite a bit off for the bodywork
 
ud get more interest with it bein sprayed,tho you might not get the extra money that ud had to spend on it
 
Its gonna cost about £600 ish to get it fixed. I think i might just keep looking out for a silver bonnet. Its going into storage for 4 months over christmas. Might try and tell it then, when 50k is even rarer
 
seems quite a lot to get it fixed mate, im not sure if you would get £600 more when painted although sayin that 50k is very low what year is the car?
you could also consider breakin the car if you have any mods etc on it

Just wait until the bits turn up mate.

Worth waiting for them at say £200 than spunk £600 that you'll probably not get back
 
take the bonnet and wings off and sand them down...
then take it to a bodyshop and they'll ask no more than £200 for a bonnet and 2 wings to be sprayed...

i got my bonnet and front lip sprayed for about £150 and the lip needed some big repairs...

£600 for a bonnet and front wings is a bit too much tbh..


definately get it done then sell it though..

The car is a 1996 btw.. And it wouldn't be worth breaking as it is completely stock.. ...apart from a tanabee back box
 
yeah looks like a pre-face mate. be careful if your shippin out such a big item, had some problems myself recently :(
 
Got that item on the way, £40 including PP... Hopefully itll be alright. I imagine itll need a bit of a touch up. Just need to find some wings now
 
should check from the same guy, from what I hear he is breakin the whole car :nice:
 
I saw the car the bonnet came off today mate, was buyin a door lol car looks not bad he had wings aswell, one was broken though but the drivers side was fine. He was a sound guy!
