Hey guys saw this for sale and have asked the seller some Q's about it but what do you reckon.

its up for £4500 i'm just thinking if i can get some money together from my car i'm breaking i'd like to go and have a look.
just couple of things he says the seats are mint but they look pretty dirty in pics. also is it me or do the head lights look like EK4 headlights....or is this cause its the earlier ek9 it don't have em.
obv i 'd make an offer.

any thoughts welcome cause at the MO i'm in that state of wanting something so don't wanna meka s hit decision.
so yeah just let me know....even if you say " **** don't buy it" that'd still help

Car description: Here for sale is my EK9 Type R, Im not in a rush to sell this car so please no silly offers. It is finished in championship white with 74,000 miles on the clock. The clocks are still in KM. The car was imported in 2001. It has loads of paperwork with the car from when it was in Japan, when it was imported and service history/previous MOT's for the car from Honda main delearship and independant garages. It also has plenty of reciepts showing how much has been spent on the car, there have been over £2k of mods on this car.

MOT - 13th May 2011
Tax - 31st August 2011

Condition - This car is in very good condition with a minor scuff on the front lip

Interior - The interior of the car is MINT!! It has two red recaro bucket seats which are in good condition (no rips), red carpet, original red type r mats, Momo steering wheel, Momo gearknob, CD player, Sparco harnesses, Emergency flare, Electric mirrors, Toad alarm with certificate for cheaper insurance.

Exterior - All usual Type R refinements, Rota Slipstream alloys 15" in Black with ultra light wheel nuts, facelift rear lights

Engine - B16B engine, in good mechanical working order, no smoke, no rattles, no crunches from the gearbox,and importantly does not burn oil. Kakimoto GT1.OZ Lightweight 3 piece decat exhaust (sounds very good in vtec), Apexi induction kit, NRG engine torque damper, ACT Organic Street Clutch, ACT Xact streetlite Flywheel, BC-racing BR coilovers (which are height adjustable and can set to soft/hard), Mugen Rocker Cover, thicker HT Leads, Mugen oil cap, Spoon Urethane Bushing set.
 
i was actually going to buy that before i bought my b18c-r ek4

looks a nice car, he would take 4200

he's not had it long though, i think i remember him saying he took it in px
 
did you have a look at it mate ?
for the spec 4200 is a good price i think if it is in the condition stated.
i mean 74,000 for a pre facelift is pretty good i though .
 
was planning to but the ek4 came up on my doorstep and the ek9 was 2.5 hours away
 
It has facelift stereo surround but lights do look like prefacelift ek4 lights.
Also uk plate recess.
It's non airbag model which is nice.

Without better pics hard to judge.

yeh defintaley worth a look seats are a bit dirty but could be cleaned up very easily

yeh the seats look 2 b pretty dirty but apart from that it looks ok. cant say to much without better pics! go have a look ,gd luck on the price ur after haha u dont ask u dont get mate!
 
Defo worth a look man, personally I would prefer a facelift but you can't argue with the miles very good! Can't do any harm to go and have a look :)
 
No harm in taking a look, looks like a facelift to me with the centre console and the grill looks much longer than the prefacelift grill! Ek9 lights might have been sold on. Hard to tell tough!
 
ek9 prefacelift lights do tend to look quite bright in day light. ask him for more pictures
 
Well, S -reg is Facelift, but those headlights certainly are not. :) Apart from that man, looks in pretty good shape and the mods you get from the price, you cant really complain about.

The recaro's might be hard to clean up but im sure with some hard work you could get them up nice again.
 
Just a random note but I am more than willing to bet my dinner that the mugen rocker cover is fake. just a feeling! Looks pretty clean otherwise, there are some lurking on piston heads btw if milage isnt a biggy!

Looks facelift, facelift rear lights, centre console/heater matrix. If it's advertised as pre-facelift I'd be careful lol
 
Id be extra cautious and look hard for signs of accident damage. only reason i can think of him changing ek9 lights for ek4 ones is because you can get them easily after having an accident or something. Unelss he was short on cash and sold them lol
 
seems strange as its clearly advertised as prefacelift

he took the car in p/x and has had it less than a month so i'd be worried about accident damage to be honest..

front bumper, headlights, rear door and rearllights all seem to have been changed at some point of time, sounds like it might have been in a major bust up
