Brakes are frying my brain :S

If I was to get a slightly smaller disc. Say 305 or 300mm would the hat be smaller or just the disc. I really can't move the bracket more as it'll hit my wheels. Would that still work with the calipers?? James- it's just how they described it to be, didn't really think about it but yes, I'm...

Brakes are frying my brain :S

I don't have any pictures sorry. My cars up at Corten miller. I'm going to phone them and ask them for pictures/diagrams to show me what they mean. I'm not clear in my own mind either what they mean. But as Kozy has said the piston area is far to big I don't think they will ever work.

Brakes are frying my brain :S

My ek9 brakes were brilliant on a standard B18. Since it's boosted they can't handle the power..... Obvious!??! I've doubled the power. In fact a round snetterton which I do a fair bit, I was SLOWER when boosted then n/a purely because I was braking far to early to get speeds down. Kozy- yes I...

Brakes are frying my brain :S

Yes. I've changed that over and I've got a brake stopper as well. What do people think to machining the hats?? It's a bit risky isn't it to be taking material away from them?? Especially so close to the disc??!!

Brakes are frying my brain :S

Right then Kozy. The area for the pistons in my calipers is 4.80. Does that mean anything?? Dunno if that is each or for all 4. They are the superlite calipers. I'll have to get in touch with steveEk9. The other option (which I don't like is this. The hats for my brakes is fouling the side...

Brakes are frying my brain :S

Thanks guys. Kozy-when I'm back from work I'll try what you've said. I'm getting away from wilwood and any other generic caliper I hope. Plus from standard ek9. I wouldn't trust them. It might be my short term fix tho. The reason I was thinking spoon is basically they have been...

Brakes are frying my brain :S

Hi guys, I need help. Basically I've been looking through different threads regarding brake set-ups but they have totally fried my brain. I'm running willwood(can't remember my caliper) 310/32(size of disc) and to be honest they have never been any good. No pedal feel, long travel etc etc...

    Tearing drive shaft boots.

Good idea.... Bolt goes to the back doesn't it?? I've even got extended lower ball joints to help the angles of the drive shafts, just beats me why they keep going!!

    Tearing drive shaft boots.

Hi all. Last year I brought a pair of m factory driveshafts, I did less than 1000 miles on them and the outter boot failed. I got in contact with them and they sent me 6 replacements so no problem there. I got them repaired at a garage, all good but since then I've done less than 500 miles and...

    GoAutoworks ? or Other

Well maybe. It's been welded up 3times now, first to go was the wastegate. Next to fell off during a track day about 6months after I got it back. If not less. Then it went around the inside left pipe going down in the middle. My tuner doesn't want to know anymore, so I think my car could be on...

    GoAutoworks ? or Other

I have a go autoworks ram horned manifold and I've had nothing but trouble with it. It's cracked all the time. I've had it 3 yrs this year. And can't afford to change it it so I just run it how it is. People who built my car don't even want to know anymore either... Be careful.

Full Set of Federal RSRs or Toyo R1Rs?

As above. I've had both, and on track. The R1R's are a great tyre for the road. Grippy from cold BUT they cut out quickly. The RSR's are a brilliant tyre, I've found them hard wearing but also very good levels of grip.... Even in the wet. If I had to pick, I'd go RSR's. you won't regret...
