EK9.org Trackday Kirkistown 16th june

I might book the day off work to come spectate. I do want to arrange a track day there for nihonda eventually so it will be nice to see how the day runs and what you guys think of the track!

U gonna make it up Leigh?

On a side note, how about making a wee swap meet while we're at it?!

Anyone have any parts for sale that can take with them?

i might get a lend of that to try it in my SiR for a few runs out the carriageway?

heard good things about them in B16s...raise the rev limit a bit

Looking forward to this myself, 13 people booked in and all so if every one turns up it will be a good trackday!!

They will have to make a separate group just for civics

ive updated the first post with people who are still going

if you are not planning on going please contact donal and let him know please

How come your spectating now lee?

having headgasket problems so dont know if i will be confident taking it out incase the problem is still there

i've told donal that i wont be racing but car should be back on its feet in the next few days so i will gauge how confident i am in the car then and then may change my mind

I got my head lightly skimmed and fitted a new genuine Honda head gasket and its been 100% since touch wood. I had the exact same symptoms as yourself pushing a small amount of compression into the cooling system

Only cost £80 for skim and then cost of the head gasket

i already got a skim by a neighbour of mine who skims head/blocks and builds engines but his machine may have been a little old...his skimming left light lines in the head surface and after a few weeks the engine was building pressure once again....took it to have a few tests done and turns out the skim job was bad and head needed 8 thou taken off to make it flat

so i have a new genuine gasket on now and should be back on its wheels in the next few days and ill see how she is going and make my mind up then....if shes not going as good as before i wont be doing the trackday

if i dont get my timing belt soon i could very well be missing this as well! :((

Hope everything gets sorted lads :nice:

I thought I could muster up some more southern attendees but doesnt look like anyone else wants to head along.

Im just wondering, on the day will we organize it so that all the civics to line up in the paddock in the morning?

Will be nice if we pick a corner and have the vans and trailers parked in outta the way of other cars and all the civics lined up then. every one can be near by for support and a bit of banter?

Hopefully that will be your problem sorted, it really all comes down to the machine work. Donal would probably let you do a few laps to test the car and of you found that you have problems after just a few laps he would usually give you a refund

Timing belts are very easy to fit on these cars so shouldn't take long as soon as it shows up. Never heard of a Honda belt breaking either, I've removed them with 100k they have looked in very good shape
