EK9's light weight replacement

Awesome Great buy!!!, I allways like to think after the 9 i will get some for of lotus elise and put a b18c / k20 in it!!

As said though I couldn't go for any of this new overweight rubbish! :D

How does it compare to the 9?

awesome piece of kit there mate :) congrats, how u finding it to drive?whats the handling like?

handling is amazing, not pushed it anywhere near the limit yet as it's my first rear wheel drive car and i want to take a bit of time to get used to it but from what i've experienced so far it's very promising. I find it more fun to drive than the 9 but i think the 9 may have been faster (b18 may have helped there). It's meant to be around 160 bhp which i worked out to be around 215bhp per tonne not including driver etc, the steering response is absolutely amazing, lack of power steering gives a much better feel of what's happening.
The previous owner had spent 3k on the engine in the last few months with a 5 year guarantee against head gasket failure which is a major bonus for the earlier elises. I'll be looking to upgrade with itb's and a new ecu which should just clear 180bhp, which to be fair may not sound like much but when the car ways around 725kg's it's a fair bit.

Thanks for the good comments, i didn't actually think to many people on here would like this sort of car

OMG my dream car! I want it with K20A (FD2) swap ! Ultimate track car

one of the most fun cars i've ever owned good choice getting a S1 handling is scary good on the road no matter how hard you try it'll take it, until you do something stupid that is. After selling mine a while ago i missed it so much i started building a big power turbo s1 exige and cant wait to finish it. Good luck with it mate great choice of cars

If I'd had the money I would have bought an S1 Elise, they are one of the few cars that will appreciate in value and are modern classics. I just bought a VX220, paid for by Vauxhall but built by Lotus, and it's totally different to the '9 even if it's a bit slower.

I wish you well with the car, today is meant to be good weather so hopefully you'll get a chance to give it a good drive :)
