honda reliabilty!!!

now they say a honda wont let you down and since the engine swap the old engine has been dodgy and the speedo is on and off like mad, plus it has to be jumped every time as it wont start, 45 mintes ago my little brother was hit by a car and i had to shoot over to make sure he was ok... in shock i completely forgot about my crappy civ`s issues and jumped in twisted the key and hey presto... it started without fault!! plus the speedo was fine and it didn`t judder all the way there. now yes this is kind of a pointless thread but just goes to show that when you really need it.... a honda wont let you down! and no they didn`t pay me to make this thread lmfao.

p.s. he`s in pretty bad shape and is in the hospital as i type...

Technically if it was working fine when you took it out - you must have disturbed something or not done something correctly when putting it back in !

I've had 2 Civics - one had 146k miles when i sold it and none of the two ever let me down once.

Sorry about your brother mate hope he is ok!

Check your plug that is located on your gearbox this is for your speedo drive, make sure its securely inserted!
 
MANY MANY THANK YOU`S FOR ALL YOUR KIND WORDS GUYS, REALLY APPRECIATED. he`s only 12 :( all the docs have said is that he`s been taken into intensive care and has some bruising on the brain :nerv:
and i`ll have a look and see what`s going on, been told could be a dodgy alternator.. bu i`ll try the plug and let ya`ll know what happens. thanks again guys.
 
was he in a car or walking!? sorry to hear this mate, hope everything works out ok for him, i'd say i can speak for everyone on here when i say, our thoughts are with you and your family as this is a nervous time since he is in intensive care, all the best mate

thanks again fellas, and he was on a push bike on his way home from school, slipped going around some other kids and fell off the kurb and a car hit him. haven`t been told much but just hope he`ll be ok, like i said he`s only 12... i flew up there as soon as i heard and nothing describes the feeling.. i mean i knew what had happened before i got there but i was shocked when i saw the damage... he was covered from head to toe in blood and it completely threw me... sad times...
 
My thoughts go out to your and your family mate, got a bro about the same age as yours and I'm never done worrying about him.
 
there is nothing worse than getting 'THAT call' sickening. hope he pulls thro ok mate. can enter into what your feeling...... ive been there.
 
thank you, and it is the worst feeling in the world to turn up to something like this and it actually be serious, i honestly hope that none of you ever have to go through anything like this as you`ve all shown today that you`re all great people and don`t deserve this. thank you all and i will keep you posted as i`m updated.
