Thanks iceman. Yes I was shocked at how heavy the doors are! The "new" doors should be here by the end of the week (hopefully barring any major catastrophe) and then final weighing will begin.

I can guarantee they'll be lighter than standard!

cf or f/glass doors ?

surely from cost perspective arent you just better totally gutting oem door so literally just skin left and plastic/perspex window ?

Thats why I said 'new". They've got a make over, they're not brand new! They will do - for now...

I've looked at full CF doors, and the cost (especially considering they are for a race car) is prohibitive to say the least :wow:

arhhh, ok, so much info in the thread ive lost track, sorry

defo most sensible option youve taken

looking forward to completion

Well there's a hold up on the doors, will mean I get them back Wednesday night, car is on the trailer Thursday afternoon :nerv:

Oh well, it wouldn't be an event I'm going to if things weren't done at the last minute - I still have to make some sort of mechanism for the doors to be able to open

I've done some more work in the interior, and have got some Raybrig spot lights that'll replace the OEM head lights. I changed all the roll cage padding to black, and it transformed the interior, it looks much more business like!

I'll get some pics up when I get a chance, but they are few and far between for now! I just want to get it on the trailer and off to the track!

I have a camera bracket this time, so hopefully I'll be able to reward the faithful with some in car footage!

Please excuse the alarm box hanging out of the dash, I haven't got around to ripping it out - another 500g there!

Bugger.

A good day out weather wise, but the gear box turned into a hand grenade and won't drive in any gear, won't reverse, and the clutch makes a VERY nasty noise when you try and engage/disengage.

I am hoping and praying that it's only a clutch problem but it doesn't seem likely.

I have a couple of pics to show you all but none of me on the track, as I didn't have any time to take any before it was time to put the car back on the trailer :(

Oh well, it looks like I have the excuse I need to finally get a close ratio gear kit into the car for a bit of extra oooomph!

I'm hoping to get the box off the car over this coming weekend and I'll have more pics when I do.

Until then.
